Ok, So I'm a guitarist and I watch a hell of a lot of self help vids on the net. I thought that like no matter what instrument you play or wanna play if you see a decent link to a video (Self help or showing off) you could post it here. I'll get the ball rolling.
Gus G's lessons (Intermediate/Advanced) This is bringing me great help recently because I wanna push my abilities
I play rhythm guitar and do some vocals in my band- Daron Malakian or Tom Delonge-esque if you get a chance to listen to the newer System or Blink 182 stuff.
I feel i'm pretty good, getting singing lessons. Not that i use any of these techniques in show, i just use them to warm my voice up.
All sites seem to recomend and electric tuner. None however stick thier necks out and recomend a particular one. I apriciate a seasoned player has no use for such a tool but wondered if you knew of any that are better or if its just a simple thing and any old one will work...?
A seasoned player will still need a tuner regardless of how good they are. Professionals use them (as do their techs to ensure complete accuracy) so don't underestimate the value of a guitar tuner.
You'll need a chromatic tuner as in the future you may experiment with alternative tunings. I've always had the Seiko ST737 because there's a back light and it tunes to individual notes as apposed to the E standard settings (EADGBe).
Having said that though, you can also buy a Zoom 505 Pedal, It's like £30 (If you go on e-bay you can pick them up for like a fiver) basically it's a Multi Effects pedal with a pretty decent built in tuner.
If I was in your position I'd get the Zoom 505, The effects aren't groundbreaking or anything but it's a fun thing to play through and the tuner is included. (I still have mine in my back up kit)
