WWE officials have been in contact with Chris Jericho in hopes of a return around September. Nothing has been confirmed at this point but if a deal is reached he will most likely appear on the RAW brand.
Dixie Carter is trying bring Jericho to TNA as well, but if WWE will likely be the place Jericho goes should he return to wrestling.
WWE just isn't the same without Y2J. His absence is the main reason i've not watched Raw with any interest for some time. Hopefully this is true and the Highlight of the Night will return to our screens soon.
Well he hasn't made it back so far but there seems to be a glimmer of hope finally...

We reported here yesterday that Chris Jericho has been in regular contact with WWE and the two sides are discussing Jericho's return to the company. We have another update to the Chris Jericho situation.
Chris Jericho and WWE remained in contact ever since Jericho's contract expired in the summer of 2005. Things have heated up ever since Jericho's appearance on Larry King Live in July. Anybody who saw Jericho's appearance knows that Jericho was very protective of WWE's role in the tragedy, laying the foundation for his eventual return. Jericho also became very friendly with WWE champion John Cena.
Since Larry King, Chris Jericho has been in more regular contact with WWE. WWE is ready to give Jericho a guaranteed 7-figure deal to come back.
So both sides are negotiating. WWE wants Jericho, Jericho's open to returning .. While anything can happen and the deal could fall through, it's likely only a matter of time before Y2J is back in WWE. The thing is though they'd probably put him on RAW and he'd dissapear in the shuffle. However put Y2J in Smackdown's roster and you have some instant classics right there... Y2J Vs. Dave, Khali (Just Kidding)
THere's at least two fueds there that could be brill Vs. either MVP or Hardy. Put Booker back over on SD! (If he returns) and that could be great too.
Here's hoping that this actually happens this time.
I was always under the impression that Jericho was quite content away from wrestling, getting to focus on acting, music, his family, etc. He doesn't need the money and he said in all of his interviews that he had accomplished everything in wrestling that he wanted to.
But if they did bring him back then he'd be on RAW because you know Vince considers it the top show and wants that buzz from having a big surprise on his live show.
i think no matter what brand he comes back on, it would be great to have chris jericho back in the WWE, he has been missed and would give the company a boost i think. No doubt Raw would have him but it would be better for Smackdown if he went there but nothing has been signed or sealed yet so its still only rumours.
