If anyone wants to see a crazy movie. check out IF. The DVD release is the 23 of July, and I have actually had the chance to look at the DVD first-hand. it's special features are awesome. the same as the US's release, or even better since it also includes screenplay narrarated by Malcolm MacDowell.
One of my top 20 favourite films. I was going to post about this when I read a few weeks ago that this film was coming to DVD but didn't because I figure no-one would care.
If... is a classic of late 60's allegorical surreal cinema. Lindsey Anderson directed this tale about a group of students who rebel against the stuffy, pompous, bullying, class affected oppressive system at a top bording school, which ends in a spectacular gun battle.
It's noted for having a number of scenes would suddenly jump to black & white which a lot of people saw as a bold artistic statement when the truth was they ran out of colour film and couldn't afford any more!
Malcolm McDowell puts in a career defining peformance here and you can see why he was given the lead in O' Lucky Man and of course the infamous A Clockwork Orange after watching If....
A cult classic that should be seen by everyone at least once.
DM, if you have a review copy then any chance of sending it this way please? Id love to see what they've done with it for the DVD?

I went to the same school as I think it was the Director went to, It was a boarding school and did have stage like in the film, but was no way as crazy as the film apart from a few exceptions.
I rembember the English Teached kept bringing it up in class and said how the director / writer had passed all his exams and was a good example ?
