I have to say it looks pretty cool. It's also worth noting that this is a completely different film to the original AVP. It's a restart of the franchise shallwe say not a sequel. Although Rumours abound that Predlien is in it somewhere.
It's due for release on 25th December 2007 in the US.
It's a special fx fest with lots of death, gore and explosions. You know what to expect. Enjoy it for what it is. Dont be disappointed when the acting and screenplay aren't Shawshank standard! Its just a bit of fun!
News that will really strike fear into your hearts... More than the film mamaged anyway.
File this under "rumour" for the moment, but it sounds all too plausible. According to an anonymous source who got in touch with horror site Shock Till You Drop, a third Alien Vs. Predator film is on the way, and it's going to be set back in space.
Against all laws of nature, Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem has made $128.8 million worldwide, so a sequel was probably inevitable. In fact, the Strause brothers who directed it said that they felt the film "defintely" led in to a sequel, and that they gave 20th Century Fox "no choice" but to set that sequel in space. That is, assuming they're brought back for the job.
On the bright side, setting the whole thing in space might alleviate some of the problems faced by the series: it means that they don't have to particularly worry about the whole "how come, if these things came to Earth, they still came as a shock to Ripley years later?", which leads to stupid decisions like setting the thing in Antarctica or using blue dissolvy goo. On the other hand, since we did the whole aliens-on-a-ship claustrophobia thing a couple of times already, it means they're going to have to come up with some other way to surprise us - and chances are whatever they make up will be just as dumb as the series has been to date.
So keep ears open for an official announcement soon, at least before the film's US DVD release in April, and batten down the hatches and prepare yourself.
