PWInsider.com: TNA will be taping their final three "one hour" Impact episodes tonight at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. I haven't heard much in regard to plans for the taping except that the long-planned TNA Women's division will start in some form tonight, probably a match or two. TNA has long wanted to add more female wrestling to the product but the plans were to always wait until there was more TV time to go around. TNA has shown some interest in some of the women that work for the entertaining SHIMMER promotion in Illinois in recent months.
And then we can watch it get shafted like the X-division...
If Tna come up with a good womens division only then will i watch the product as the only wrestling i watch these days is of course Joshi and womens! I doubt it would be treated seriously though.Amazing Kong would be a fantastic asset if they hired her, i wish the WWE would to,but being that she is a big girl, doesnt have blond hair or big breasts and can actually wrestle, i doubt she will ever get the chance with a big company which sucks.
Amazing Kong does have big breasts but it's because she a "Big" girl....
As it stands a Women's Champ will be crowned at BFG next month with a gauntlet match to decided the new champ. Roxxi LeVeaux qualified via a match on Impact this week.
But if they bring more Shimmer girls in then it should be okay just as long as they let them work, don't give them crappy gimmicks (like Roxxi LeVeaux) and don't treat them purely as T&A (fat chance with Russo on board) then they might pull it off until they get bored with it like they have the X-Division.
1. Tracy Brooks 2. Gail Kim 3. Christy Hemme 4. Jackie Moore 5. Roxy Laveaux 6. Shelly Martinez/Ariel 7. ODB(One Dirty Bitch) 8. Angel Williams 9. Talia Madison 10. The Amazing Kong
If this is true then thats a pretty decent roster espicially if mrs Kong is indeed joining tna! She is awesome and would be a fantastic asset, the only thing i fear is they may give her a stupid gimmick or something ridiculous, because i cant see TNA really being to serious with this division.I will tune in to see where they go with it though.
Indeed but i dont know what to think about this. Will they be serious about the division? or will it just be short term thing and then they lose intrest in it? I cant see amazing kong being her usual brutal self in the company (wouldnt be surprised if she got given a bertha faye type gimmick that mocks her weight and appearence while being stripped of a lot of her moves).Im a fierce womans wrestling fan as you know ^^ so i hope it will be given proper respect and time, and for the women to actually wrestle and show what they can do in the ring.Amazing Kong will be awesome and i hope shell do well in TNA if true, she is awesome (have got to talk with A.K through myspace and met at a joshi show, fantastic lady).
A couple of years ago I wouldn't have worried too much but now Russo is booking and the fact they've managed to stuff the X-Division up, it's a different matter.
Apologies for the double post but something isn't right with that list.
ODB is the current OVW Women's champ so how the hell can a contracted WWE performer appear on a TNA PPV? I've done a check and there's only one ODB named Jessica Dalton.
Apparantly it is the one and same ODB, maybe they've bought out her contract or she's been released. It wouldn't be the first time we've not heard about releases from the WWE. The proof will be at BFG I suppose...
Anyway here's some more news... Mike Johnson is reporting that TNA has signed former WWE Women's Champion Jazz to a contract and she will most likely make her debut at Bound for Glory.
Jazz? awesome! Sounds like Tna are actually trying to make a decent womens division..for now.Until eventually they lose intrest and someone like Karen Angle becomes the womens champion.
I don't think TNA really need a Womens Division...I think they really should concentrate on strengthening the divisions they already have rather than building something new

Actually Mike isn't posting anything of the sort:
I rarely acknowledge stupidity but a number of places have been falsely crediting me with TNA news that I never wrote or reported here on the site over the last week. No, TNA did not sign Jazz, David Young, Billy Kidman, or CW Anderson, nor were any of them backstage at the taping last night.
Japanese and SHIMMER star The Amazing Kong is backstage at the TNA tapings in Orlando, Florida and is slated to debut tonight. As we noted last week on the site, she's scheduled for the women's Gauntlet bout at the Bound for Glory PPV next month.
