Greatest Comic Book Movie Ever?
Permalink Closed

The choice is endless what with the recent Marvel succeses of Spiderman, X-men, FF42 but for me there is only one clear winner SUPERMAN with the man of steel himself Christopher Reeve.

Anyone agree/disagree?

I think Garf2k4 might.... But truth be told I would go for either Superman the Movie, Batman (The jack Nicholson, Micheal Keaton one) or Spiderman 2 for my money.

Yes Superman, Superman II and Spiderman would be the ones for me I guess.

The Crow is exceptional, but for my money, Blade deserves a mention. If it wasn't for The Daywalker, you wouldn't have a comic-book movie revival. In fact, Marvel doing their own movies now wouldn't have happened without Blade.

I'm not going to be as predictable as Matt thinks I'm going to be, but I have to ask whether we're allowed animations or just live action movies???

Spiderman would be the one for me. The sequel didn't do it for me, I thought that they had him hook up with Mary Jane WAY too soon, and it just wasn't as emotional a film

As long as it's basis resides from a comic book then I'm happy.

Then I'd have to go with either Akira, or Ghost in the Shell. Mask Of the Phantasm would definitely a close second choice.

I'd have to agree with Garf2k4, Ghost in the Shell is definitly up there for me, i think all the spiderman movies are wayyyy over rated, the superman movies (originals) were fantastic, so they would be up there too. But as for the greatest for me, that would have to be Xmen, any of the movies i have enjoyed. I am a HUGE Xmen fan from way back, so when they came to the big screen, it just blew me away.

Has any one seen Doc Savage, Man Of Bronze??? It's kinda old school, and just a little bit camp ( 60s Batman stylee ), but well worth a watch.

Yes - I've seen Doc Savage many times over the years. My dad is huge fan of the original Kenneth Robeson novels and the old comic books so the film has graced our TV screens many a time.
