The latest fad sweeping the wrestling internet community is the meaning of this cryptic message flashed at the end of RAW and also apeearing on the WWE Website.

The current favorite rumour is this pertains to the return of Chris Jericho, check out this bit of info on SAVE_US.222

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=MhLdefRd9Bo]

- from Matt Mar: I've found a version of the SAVE_US.222 video in slow motion.

- The SAVE_US.222 phenomenon continues the big debate: Is Chris Jericho
returning to WWE television? Further words were taken out from the cryptic
video - which can only be seen in slow motion or if you pause the video at
specific times. The words 'CHAMP_HARD' ; 'SMACK_BROUGHT1' ; 'RAW_LOWER_DISP' ;
'RAW_WAR_BUMPER' ; 'WM00_MATCH' ; 'LIVEWIRE'; 'SUMMER_PROM' ;
'RAW_REV_MAY2. action'; 'WM99_MATCH' ; 'JVC_FIX'; and 'KOR_Qualify13_ 60' were
flashed at one point during the whole video. Somehow most of the words are
linked to Chris Jericho in some way or another if you use your WWE knowledge
and have the ability to solve some riddles so to speak.

- The SAVE_US.222 cryptic hidden message promo was originally the brainchild of former WWE creative writer Court Bauer who pitched the idea to Stephanie McMahon earlier this year.

The cryptic video during RAW sparked a huge online debate especially with the text 'SAVE_US.222' flashing in different parts of the video. The video was made using sort of the same effects from the movie 'The Matrix' opening where green numbers drop down on a black screen but instead these were blue on black. The video contained several computer codes that are somewhat related to WWE and the rumors are that the video is related to Chris
Jericho's comeback on WWE television. There are quite a few messages in that video that relates to Jericho. The '222' if taken from the Bible - Joshua 2:2 - reads, "It was told the king of Jericho, saying, "Behold, men from the sons of Israel have come here tonight to search out the land." Another message that is displayed if the video is run on slowmo is 'CD_VOLUME4_ 1'.
If you look at the WWE The Music Volume 4 CD, the first track on there is Jericho's theme song. There's also a 'giga/flame_ 5.0.7OCT/ action' message and October 7th is the date of the No Mercy pay-per-view. Click here to see the video.

Quite an intresting promo thing that, it would be great to see Jericho back,hopefully it may be him and not just something for the Cyber Sunday PPV which has also been talked about. I have to admit Jericho has been missed, i wasent his biggest fan but i really enjoyed his work and right now WWE could do with someone of his talent.

It's one of the more original things that the WWE have produced in a long time for sure. The style very much leans towards Jericho. It's very similar to his Y2J promos when he first came in.

Heres hoping for RAW is JERICHO soon.

Meltzer has reported that on his book signing tour (which is presumably why Jericho would return to WWE TV), Jericho has a Monday left free but the Tuesday booked so that suggest if he returns it will be on RAW.

There are a number of clues which indicate it could be Y2J returning.

One thing is for sure it`s got the IWC buzzing with excitement and wild speculation.

I think this is the most intresting thing the WWE have don e in some time.

Here's the Sun newspapers take on matters.

Also, from skimming around a few other sites other popular choices seem to be:

D'Lo Brown - Second Favorite I'd say.

OUutside Bets

Bad Ass Billy Gunn - Due to the BAT ASS bit.  Obscure and and long shot at best

The New Hart Foundation - to be honest I just want them to debut.

The problem with this all is that recently the WWE have taken to deliberatly trying to 'surprise us' as with everyone seemingly thinking Cena dropping the belt to Orton at Summerslam was on the cards, it didn't happen.  I'm just preparing myself for another WWE letdown at No Mercy.

The only one on that list other than Jericho I'd asy would be D'Lo. Wouldn't be Billy Gunn as he's under contract to TNA. The new hart Foundation will appear on Smackdown! first I reckon.

D'Lo's scheduled to work the next tour with NOAH in Japan that starts tomorrow so he's off the list.

Billy Gunn? Geez some people are just SO stupid.

Jericho is such a firm favourite I think they'll have to deliver him just to get the pop because anyone else will be a major let down and the fans will crap on it big time.

I know Meltzer is hardly the fountain of things that will happen but....

Dave Meltzer stated Thursday night that Chris Jericho has picked WWE over TNA for his return to the ring, and that Y2J is likely to return to WWE on 10/7 at the No Mercy PPV. Meltzer had been reporting that Jericho was in talks with both WWE and TNA, but ultimately opted to mark his return with World Wrestling Entertainment.

I'm always cynical when sites credit things to other sites in such a way. It usually means that someone is hiding behind Melzter's name and credibility to get across a rumour or non story; or they've read between the lines of something he has said and inferred something which he is afraid to commit to posting himself.

Just the other week someone credited a news story to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com which he never wrote!

At the very bottom of WWE.com where all the copyright stuff is there is tiny text that says Save_us.222. If you click it the much talked about video from Raw and ECW will play.

The new Viral video is out and here it is http://www.wwe.com/content/media/video/vms/none/2007/october1-7/5552148

8.2.11/SAVIOR_SELF
Latest rumour is it could be Shawn Michaels what with the numbers being the number the letter is along the alphabet.

H = 8, B = 2, K = 11

I still think it's Jericho though. Wasn't H.B.K a big influance on Chris Jericho when he was breaking through in the business?

I've not been this interested with a promo since the Tazz and Jericho ones of the late 90's.

They could have pulled a blinder if they did more like these, can you imagine if they did one in the desert with psycadelic vivid colours and Lizards with the doors playing and random quotes in the background for John Morrison? He'd be more over than he is now I bet.

...I'd mark out anyway biggrin

He also had some major in ring battles with HBK too. Maybe they'll come back as a tag team?!

Could you imagine the disappiontment if it isn't Jericho...

Also I now think we can cross HBK off the list...

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Shawn Michaels has been telling Triple H that he is on the fence about returning and really doesn't know how much wrestling he wants to do. He said his family is his top priority, his knees are in bad shape, and is devoting more of his time to religion, which is his passion right now.

Triple H has been trying to convince Michaels to return to television, even though he isn't ready to wrestle, due to a lack of depth on the roster. HBK hasn't opted for it.

It appears a key issue in the possible return of Shawn Michaels to WWE will be if he can secure a reduced travel schedule.

Stick him on SD where he can work a Taker like schedule and there are a number of fresh feuds (Finlay, MVP, DAVE, Mysterio, Hardy and go around again with Taker) which should liven things up a bit.

Like we didn't already know but anyways...

Source: PWInsider.com

It is now believed that Chris Jericho has signed a new contract with World Wrestling Entertainment. The news leaked through TNA sources who said that they were negotiating with the former Undisputed Champion before they learned that Jericho decided to return to WWE.

With the recent injury to who is now the former WWE Champion John Cena, Chris Jerichos return could not come at a better time. Despite his absence from the wrestling business, Jericho will return as a top-tier main event caliber talent that can immediately help the RAW brand.

The Save_US.222 viral marketing campaign videos began airing about two weeks ago, the same time at which Jericho backed away from negotiations with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

Source? At the moment D'Lo is working for NOAH in Japan and it has been rumoured that TNA has been in talks with a former IC and European champ which points to D'Lo but he needs to fulfil his NOAH obligations first which run for the next month.

Interesting news bit:

The original plan for the return of Chris Jericho included subliminal planted signs in the crowd to kick off the campaign.

Also its not the new hart foundation:

The New Hart Foundation is booked for the 11/6 Smackdown television taping in Bakersfield, CA.

Seems a new website has cropped up which effectvely gives away that it is finally Jericho coming back on Cyber Sunday...

More details on the http://x29-uponus-2days.saveus-222.com/ site.

- When you click on the video, the Username you need is SAVOUR_SELF and the password is SUNDAYCOMING. That comes up with a COUNTDOWN and links to WWE videos.

- A quick scan of the IP shows the website was created in Stamford, and is registered to one of the members of the WWE Board of Directors.

- On the page there is - A countdown to 3:30am GMT this Monday (roughly the last half hour of Cyber Sunday).
- Links labelled after all of the videos so far, each leading to a different Chris Jericho video on WWE.com.
- Black text saying: He shall come upon the zero hour to save us once more.
- Hidden text in the source code saying: The dawn of a new era is upon him
- Hidden text in the source saying: twsif_atitude_agn

Wow. Jericho. I thought he would have been a good choice as Sting's mystery partner at Genesis, seeing as how it's not Scott Hall. Any thoughts other than Jericho? I have no idea. Maybe it's a new guy, but a lot of the stuff says "return." Maybe Doink the Clown.

As posted elsewhere, Steph blew her top because everyone on the Net had guessed it was Jericho from the word go and she accused the writers of leaking info to the Net and having the sites spoil the surprise.

Of course it shows just how smart the fans really are and all they did was do what the WWE wanted us to do which was put the clues together and speculate. That's why they've held off Jericho's return to supposedly fool the smart fans. Instead, it's getting boring now and no-one cares anymore.

In the US next week but subscribers will get it early - at least by the weekend.

WWE shoot themselves in the foot again like they did with WM 4. Morons.

Pretty dumb but at least its confirmed that it is Jericho,should be great to see him back in a WWE ring again, they need the talent like him after a hard year of losing people like Kurt Angle,Booker T,Chris The Murderer,Big Show ect.

LOL. Jericho has always been one of my favorite wrestlers. I'm glad that he finally got a chance to be a top guy in WWE. I hated it back when he was in WCW and was forced to toil on the undercard. Jericho is a main event guy.

On another note, I think I may be Canadian. My three favorite wrestlers of all time are from the country that borders mine to the north: Jericho, Bret Hart, and Christian. Is that weird, or what??

In defence of WCW(never thought I would say that) when Jericho was there he was very young and inexperienced,talented and charismatic no doubt.However there was no way WCW would use him as a main eventer ahead of the stars they had at the time. Jericho was used enough in WCW to convince WWE to offer him a decent contract and the rest as they say is history.

Joe is correct. As much as Jericho got over in the end as a charismatic heel, he was never main event material in WCW. He could have got a good rub from Goldberg had he decided not to nix the match because he felt Jericho was too small and thus not a credible opponent for him. But considering who the main eventers were at that time in WCW, he wouldn't have made it further than he did anyway.

My lasting memory of Jericho in WCW was when he and Ralphus got lost (ala Spinal Tap) on the way to the ring...

Are you suggesting that Big Show was talented? Lol!

Seriously though, I totally agree. WWE definately need some major talent back that they can push as a top-liner. They have been totally screwed this year with injuries and stuff. Its about time they got a really good stick-man back on tv, its been too long! They need to give Jericho a mic and let him let rip! I just hope they don't make a hash of things like they usually do!

I may not know what I'm saying (and when it comes to pro wrestling, I don't), but I still don't like the way that they used Jericho in WCW. He was young and charismatic, and they could have used that to their advantage. He would have been a great (unlikely, but great) foe for Goldberg during his heyday.

I do like the way that they used Jericho in WWE, but I have never really been a fan of WWE (except during the Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels days), and I never really watched that much.

Don't know whether this was on the last Mondays RAW, but if you goto the bottom of the WWE.COm homepage there's a new video called Next Monday. If you click it the video is called Break The Walls and the video basically says next Monday Break The Walls...

Take it they've given up on hiding the fact it's Jericho then.... And he won't be there tonight either at Survivor Series.

They've had a countdown for the past couple of weeks on WWE TV so they really want the ratings for this week's RAW - especially as the RAW following the last PPV did a poor number.

Tonights the night then... I expect to see someone post a vid or gif of the triumphant (Overblown) return tonight of the Y2J one.

+++EDIT+++

That new vid details (From gerweck)....

from Keith Robinson: If you were watching the Y2J promo closely during the Survivor Series, at approximately 10:13, it said 23 hours 32 minutes tomorrow night, which means Jericho should return around 9:45 on Raw tomorrow night.
