OK I thought I'd put our own little spin on the Guest Booker format on here to do our own brand of it. (Also coz guest booker died a death...)

Here's what happens.  Below I will list some films and your job is to re-cast the film (Main characters) with a current selection of Actors/Actresses and Director.  If you want you can also make minor plot changes that you can also list.  I think this could be fun so here's the film selections below.  Just nominate the film you want to do and it will be case of first come first served...


Top Gun - Darth Mattitude

Ghostbusters

Star Wars (Return of the Jedi) - Garf2k4

Police Academy

Titanic (If you change plot elements on this, you can't stop the boat from crashing/sinking!)

The Evil Dead

Director - Sam Raimi
Co-Director - Bruce Campbell

Ashley "Ash" J. Williams - Matt Dillon
Cheryl - Jessica Biel
Scott - Jake Gyllenhaal
Linda - Linda Cardellini
Shelly - Melanie Lynskey

Voice of the Professor on the Tape - Bruce Campbell

I know Casting Matt Dillon as "Ash" seems pretty random seeing as he's a clear Decade or two older than the rest of the cast, but I think he'd make an awesome Ash. He's got the "Bruce Campbell" look and I think the talent to play a "Joe Hero" charictor as Campbell did in '81

I chose Jessica Biel as "Cheryl" because not only is she eye candy but she can act too. I enjoyed her performance in Texas Chainsaw Massachre and have been following her career ever since.

I chose Gyllenhaal for the part of "Scott" because he's a solid all round actor and I think he could step up to the plate and play the role of The "Jock charictor" Scott with style and panache

I chose Cardellini for the role of "Linda" because she plays the role of nerd quite well. She was pretty good in the Scooby Doo films and I think could fare well in a more Adult related role.

I chose Melanie Lynskey for the part of "Shelly" because as Ash's Girlfriend she's got an important part. She's pretty but wholesome looking which is just how Theresa Tilly looked in the original film. She also has a Varied range as an Actress Wheather she's "Rose" in Two and a Half Men or "Gloria" in Coyote Ugly she always plays it to her best.

I think Sam Raimi is a mint director and he did a good job on the evil dead the first time around. It would be good to see if in Heinsight the changes he'd make.

I'd have bruce Campbell heavilly involved in the new versions i.e Co-Diretor and the camio appearance as the Professor's voice. Because in my opinion it was him playing the lead part that really makes the trilogys stand out.

I'd have Linda Survive with Ash but like as half a "Deadite" and Ash has to kill her in the second one.

Other than that the only other thing I'd do is have the Car be possessed along with the forrest as apposed to the broken bridge being the reason they can't escape from the cabin.

That's the only changes I'd make, because it's a pretty much perfect storyline as it is. (Shame about the special effects) I do love it though lol.
