I'm shocked to realise I hadn't started a thread on this....

I saw this over a month ago now at one of the first pres screenings.  Im suprised this tanked in the US as it's fantastic.  Done in a similar vein to The Princess Bride, the only downside to it is that it features Ricky Gervais.  Other than that its brill.  Michelle Pfieffer is still hot....biggrin

And it has the overexposed and utter worthless Sienna Miller too.

I know it's based on a Neil Gaiman novel but does it have a good story or is it style over substance as the trailer suggests?

no no no It has a great story in a modern fairy tale style which executed very very well, and thankfully Miller is hardly in it as well. The role she plays is possibly type casting as well...

Just went to cinema and watched this, thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Its a great family movie, and would recommend anyone going to watch it.
