Here is the official NWO Thread and some news about the event. The elimination chamber is back!
The Elimination Chamber - introduced first by Eric Bischoff on WWE television - will be making its return after an absence of over a year. The plan is to have the match at next year's No Way Out pay-per-view in February with the winner of the match getting a title shot at WrestleMania 24. While the Royal Rumble winner in January will get to choose who he is going to face at WrestleMania, the champion not chosen by the Rumble winner will be facing off the Elimination Chamber winner. The last Elimination Chamber match took place at the horrible ECW pay-per-view December To Dismember last year where Bobby Lashley defeated The Big Show, Rob Van Dam, Hardcore Holly, CM Punk and Test to win the ECW title. There have been five Elimination Chamber matches since the concept was introduced in 2002 with Shawn Michaels winning the first one, Triple H following with the next two and John Cena winning the fourth. (thanks to Colin Vassallo)
This is the match that Flair is more likely to be put into and win. Then he can go and face HHH at Wrestlemania for his final match. I'm assuming that HHH will be champ by then.
The Elimination chamber would work better than the rumble. It's more 'Brutal' and Vince would be looking to not only see Flair retire but also get permanently injured in the process too.
Synopsis from In Demand: Two miles of chain and ten tons of steel will surround WWE Superstars as they fight for honor, glory and revenge in the Elimination Chamber. Dont miss Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy, Undertaker, Batista, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Edge and all your favorite Superstars at WWE No Way Out, Sunday, February 17th, live at 8pm ET/5pm PT, only on Pay-Per-View. A World Wrestling Entertainment Production. Go to wwe.com for more details.
The chamber looks like it will be a single brand match as the winner gets to challenge for their brand's world title at WM 24. The winner of the Rumble will get the title shot of that brand.
Im a fan of the elimantion chamber match, im quite surprised the negativity about it from many fans when it is a pretty cool match type, apart from that terrible december to dismember ppv.The poster is excellent to :).
winning the Rumble, I assume he will face orton, so I think it would be a great headlining match if Matt Hardy was to win the Elimination chamber and face Edge.
Well here we are the participants for the Elimination chamber has been announced... Taken from last nights RAW report.
Spoiler

Spoiler
Cena-Orton match
at No Way Out will face at WrestleMania the winner of an Elimination Chamber match to be held at No Way Out. Regal announces the participants will be Umaga, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, JBL, Jeff Hardy & Triple H.
just confirmimg MiBs post heres the news from the Smackdown Taping Can anyone say Overkill? Also, as much as Rey Vs. Edge is a good match, how about something original?
Smackdown opens with two huge announcements. First Theodore Long announces that World Heavyweight Champion Edge will defend his title against Rey Mysterio at No Way Out. He then announces a SmackDown Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out for a title shot at WrestleMania XXIV. The competitors are revealed as DAVE, Undertaker, MVP, Finlay, The Great Khali, and Big Daddy V.
I like Rey Rey but he is going to only job again against Edge. And 2 Elmination chamber matchs in one night? jeez..Espicially the one with big daddy v and Khali inside it..thats going to be quite an awful match..
I don't know it will be especially awful as in that confined space not a lot of actual wrestling occurs its more of a brawl. But I assume they will open and close the show with the EC's. Hopefully the SD! Will be at the beginning so we can have forgotten Undertakers win by the time he does a post match staredown with Edge.
WWE No Way Out - Sunday February 17, 2008 - Thomas and Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV.
1. WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton vs. John Cena- Unfortunately I have to accept the fact that we are looking at Cena Vs. HHH at Mania.
2. World Heavyweight Championship Match: Edge vs. Rey Mysterio - Good match but I can't see Rey Rey winning, he may however get Vicki to turn on Edge..?
3. ECW Championship Match: Chavo Guerrero vs. CM Punk- Im hoping punk may get the belt back now that his main detractor Dave laguna has left scripting duties in the WWE and his biggest fans Micheal PS Hayes and Dusty have taken over the book...
4. Elimination Chamber - winner gets a WWE Championship Match at WrestleMania: Jeff Hardy vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho vs. JBL vs. Umaga vs. HHH - The man is going onto the main event at mania wether we like it or not.
5. Elimination Chamber - winner gets a World Heavyweight Championship Match at WrestleMania: DAVE vs. The Great Khali vs. Finlay vs. MVP vs. Big Daddy V vs. The Undertaker - Edge Vs. Taker is a match I can't wait to see at Mania so once again obvious outcome but hopeully it will go this way. I also hope this one starts the event as it is likely to be a horrid match with Khali, DAVE and Big Daddy in there.
6. Career Threatening Match: Mr. Kennedy vs. Ric Flair - Being as he's down to face HBK at Mania Id say Flair wins. Will we get a run in from HBK??
1. WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton vs. John Cena - I'm feeling Orton to hold and a triple threat match (With HHH) @ WM.
2. World Heavyweight Championship Match: Edge vs. Rey Mysterio - I agree Taker's going to WM and they wont want a face/face battle for his millionth WM victory.
3. ECW Championship Match: Chavo Guerrero vs. CM Punk- Punks the (only) future star I can see on the ECW roster. I hope he gets another belt run.
4. Elimination Chamber - winner gets a WWE Championship Match at WrestleMania: Jeff Hardy vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho vs. JBL vs. Umaga vs. HHH - The man is going to the main event at WM, and I for one do like it. Sorry but I like him!
5. Elimination Chamber - winner gets a World Heavyweight Championship Match at WrestleMania: DAVE vs. The Great Khali vs. Finlay vs. MVP vs. Big Daddy V vs. The Undertaker - Taker and Dave are the only WM main eventers here. I edge for Taker. But if/when you watch this match, just imagine BDV maineventing maina... Now stop choking with laughter and try to forget what will be the worst most expensive curtain jerker ever!
6. Career Threatening Match: Mr. Kennedy vs. Ric Flair - We all know where this is going!
1. WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton vs. John Cena - Cena to win then vs HHH at wrestlemania.
2. World Heavyweight Championship Match: Edge vs. Rey Mysterio -No problems for edge.A good match most likely but the result isnt in doubt.
3. ECW Championship Match: Chavo Guerrero vs. CM Punk - Punk to win.
4. Elimination Chamber - winner gets a WWE Championship Match at WrestleMania: Jeff Hardy vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho vs. JBL vs. Umaga vs. HHH - Whats the point?
5. Elimination Chamber - winner gets a World Heavyweight Championship Match at WrestleMania: DAVE vs. The Great Khali vs. Finlay vs. MVP vs. Big Daddy V vs. The Undertaker - will win and face edge at mania
6. Career Threatening Match: Mr. Kennedy vs. Ric Flair - surely wont retire a ppv before the big one
- From WWE.com: Rey Mysterios quest to regain the World Championship may have suffered a severe setback in Santiago, Chile, on Wednesday night.
The injury occurred during Wednesdays live event at Arena Santiago, where Mysterio teamed with Kane against Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins. During the tag contest, Rey suffered an apparent injury to his right arm specifically his bicep. Clearly in pain, the Master of the 619 gutted it out and finished the match, then was quickly examined by WWE athletic trainer Jason Crivello upon leaving the ring.
Mysterio flew back to the United States late Wednesday night, and is currently in Gulf Breeze, Fla., waiting to meet with world-renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews, who will determine the extent of the injury. Regardless of Dr. Andrews findings, Mysterio has his heart set on competing this Sunday night at No Way Out, where he is scheduled to face Edge for the World Championship.
If Rey Rey misses the match who would replace him? Would they just put on a pointless match with say Kane or someone fighting. Or maybe throw Big Show into a match against Edge, although i see Edge retaining so dont see that.
Well Kane is the perenial stop gap for pay-per-views. Plus Kane has a nothing role at the moment so why not bring him in? Taker/Kane at WM? If Kane was to take the title to that match it could (emphasis on could) make an interesting story. Or it could be really stale...? Honestly I don't know!
I wasn't meaing there was anything wrong with Kane as i also like him. But just couldn't see him winning it off Edge. Whereas if Big Show returned it'd be a bit silly him losing. I only used Kane's name as thats who i'd see replacing Rey.
Anyway the WWE wont put great thought into it, they'll just throw together match, Edge will win as I expect would've been the case anyway, and they'll continue as they had already planned. Though all this speculating makes it a lot more fun and interesting!
I was going to post the results but they were basically as we said they would be. With the return of the Big Show (Who apparantly suffered a broken nose in his skit with Mayweather) I assume he's doing a 'thing' with Mayweather at Wrestlemania?
Looks like Triple H has put paid to Jeff Hardys world title hopes, back to defending his interncontinental title for him now, which sucks because from what iv seen and read,Jeff has massivley imrproved in the ring and is one of the most over stars in the company,as soon as Trips returned, its all over for him.The Elimanation chambers sound ok and nice to hear Chavo retained the title (I like chavo.).Naturally Ric Flair won his match.Mayweather vs Big show sounds intresting..
Floyd Maywether Jr is the current Boxing Welterweight champion who is undefeated (39-0-0) most recently beating Britains Ricky Hatton via KO.
He's big news in the states so it's quite a coup for the WWE to get him. It's basically the same scale as when they got Mike Tyson all those years ago.
Mayweather is one of the worlds best boxers so its quite a coup for him to show on WWE tv.But then the E always seems to get hold of some of the best boxers to help get them publicity (Muhammad Ali,Lennox Lewis,Mike Tyson,Evander Holyfield ect all have appeared with the company before).I just hope they wouldnt push for a big show vs Mayweather boxing match at Mania, imagine if floyd somehow knocked the show out who is miles taller and bigger then him, his career would never recover from it.
Last night's angle with Big Show and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. at the No Way Out PPV was designed to be the start of building towards Mayweather taking part in Wrestlemania 24 in Orlando on 3/30. While Show vs. Mayweather in a wrestler vs. boxer match was what they appeared to be building towards, Mayweather will actually be taking part in a tag match at the PPV.
The original plan (before Rey Mysterio tore his biceps) was for Rey to team with Mayweather against Big Show and a partner. While Mysterio has talked of trying to gut it out through Mania, there's no word as to what his status will be going forward. If you can believe this, one rumor making the rounds within the WWE locker room is that the company is making overtures towards Oscar de La Hoya to get involved with the match as a Wrestlemania tag partner for Show.
The thing that makes the rumor questionable is that it was just announced that de La Hoya will be fighting this coming May. One would think he would be busy training for that fight by the time Wrestlemania comes around. On an interesting note, de La Hoya is a huge wrestling fan and is also the owner of The Ring and Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazines.
I have to say I quite enjoyed this event, some of it was predictable but I found it exciting as the matches determinded who was wrestling at Mania which I will be attending :D.
The Mayweather segment was excellent! Me and my mates didn't expected that and we marked huge when he punched hell out of the big show then everyone jumped the barrier and took off. CLASSIC moment! Can't wait to see what comes of this.
