Good to see that Bruce got in. I really don't see how it's possible that he couldn't.

Kurt Russell? pfft. I'd rather have Larry "Buster" Crabbe in there for three Flash Gordon serials, one Buck Rogers and a Tarzan film! Or Patrick Stewart or John Hurt.

Replace Ghostbusters with Citizen Kane (reently voted AFI no 1 film of all time - again!) then you have a proper list! wink.gif

Kurt Russell Happens tohave been in two of the best Sci Fi movies of the modern era in The Thing, Stargate & Escape To New York. He was also in Soldier. I knew he would be a contencious one, he almost lost out becasue of Death proof this year, but then he's the best thing in that movie.

I agree with all of those DM. Dustin Hoffman is an especially good choice.

A) that's three movies and b) that's your opinion that they are good.

I imagine that most people have forgotten that Stargate was originally a film and The Thing was an okay horror remake. Only Escape From New York probably has the most credibility although where it truly stands against the heavyweights like Star Wars, Star Trek, Close Encounters, ET, etc remains is quesionable. It's more of a cult hit like Blade Runner for me.

Personally, I see Kurt Russell more as a comedy/lightweight action guy for films like Overboard, Big Trouble In Little China, Elvis The Movie, Used Cars, Tango & Cash, Backdraft and such, but again he's not a name that immediately springs to mind as bona fide HOF if you see my point.

I hope you understand I'm not trying to run this idea down rather I'm proffering an objective view. As I've tried to stress before, this sort of thing needs to be based on merit and not personal favourites, facts and not opinion. smile.gif
