I'm trying to gauge interest on a TU/CPC Movies music award forum. I know that DM is doing the movie thing, but I'd also like to honor the best music of 2007, according to the members of TU. Anybody interested?
This probably wouldn't play out until the new year (throughout January, most likely), but I'd still like to do it. If we could have some nominations, that would be great. Here are some possible awards (feel free to add more):
Artist of the Year
Album of the Year
Best New Artist
Song of the year
Rock Artist of the Year
Rock Album of the Year
Pop Artist of the Year
Pop Album of the Year
Artist of the New Year (for a band you think will break out next year)
Any others?

Rock Album of the Year - High & Mighty Color - SAN
Pop Artist of the Year - Ai Otsuka
Pop Album of the Year - Ai Otsuka - LOVE PiECE
Artist of the New Year - Ore Ska Band / MARIA
Artist(s) you'd most like to disappear off the face of the earth: Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty, Britney, all rap and so-called "Rnb" acts, all boybands and girl groups and Morning Musume.
This should be a fun thread. Already with the most random bands that I have never heard of (MiB, that's to you). And already with the metal bias (um, SoD would be guilty there). I guess we'll have like 3 candidates in each category, and we could vote here I guess. Maybe we could get DM to chime in sometime on the best way to do this.

The only comments I would make are that Daughtry is a rock album not a pop album (and a pretty good one too); Amy Winehouse has been going for a few years over here; and I reckon a lot of these albums are not owned by us Brits.
where the Poo are Machine Head? The had a steller year this year. The best metal album of the year as voted for by Kerrang and Metal Hammer readers respectively.
Plus Asthetics of Hate was voted best single by the same band :P

Thanks for the comments, guys. They will be taken into consideration. I'll have a finished list of candidates up in a few days.
And, just to let you know, I am also going to be posting this competition on a few other boards, as to generate more interest. So I have to make it as accessible to Americans as I hope it will be to Brits.
Again, thanks.

No offence David, but I won't be participating as you probably may have guessed due to me not listening to or knowing a damn thing about today's music.
