It was noted earlier in the week that a multi-time world champion was making his return to World Wrestling Entertainment.
That individual is none other than "The Big Show" Paul Wight. He has either signed with the company or agreed to a deal. He will be starting full-time imminently.
After leaving professional wrestling about a year ago, Wight started to pursue a possible career in boxing. He did some boxing training and got his weight down to about 440 pounds, thus leaving him in good shape. Wight had a boxing deal in place in which Hulk Hogan would have been his "front man" -- acting like a manager for him by doing promos and appearances. Hogan's involvement was the main reason many boxing promoters were actually interested in Big Show and paying him so much money to learn the sport.
However, his boxing aspirations fell apart at some point as Wight realized that at his age (soon to be 36), boxing might not be the right career move for him go in. Furthermore, there have been no recent updates or talks of Hogan doing his own wrestling tour, which would have involved Wight had it gotten off the ground. With nothing on the horizon for Wight, he decided that it was time for him to make his return to World Wrestling Entertainment.
Interesting. When he left WWE he couldn't wait to stick the boot in to Vince and Co, even referring to Big Show as his "slave name"!
Ah well money talks I guess. I wonder if this means we'll get Show vs Khali at WM 24? I think I'd prefer that to Hogan vs Khali - as scary as that sounds..
Thats pretty cool, the big show is great when he is used correctly. But was hoping it was going to be Randy Savage who would be the world champion to return! The odd thing about savage is there is going to be a 3 disc Randy savage WWE release at the end of this year, and i would have thought if he was on such bad terms with vince and such then surely they wouldnt even have thought about a huge set on the guy.Bringing back Randy would be the only way ill watch the product again ^^!
Except that Savage is nearly 60, out of shape, hasn't been in a wrestling ring for over 3 years and there is unspoken heat between he and Vince. I expect the DVD to be a burial job like the Warrior one.
Of course i dont mean Savage to return in ring Mib but to see him just make an appearence would be amazing, he was always my faverate as a kid and just to get to see him at least one more time inside a WWE ring would bring out the old mark in me! I also dont believe the dvd will be a buriel, its a 3 disc set from what i read so surely they wont make 3 discs worth of talking heads burying savage, that would be pretty pointless. As for the big show, i think hes great when used as a monster heel, anything else and as Dark M said, Meh..I would hate to see a Big show vs Khali or big show vs Hogan match at WM though..
Hmm...I don't know what to think about this. I must admit, I've never thought of the Big Show as much of a great personality, but he is one of the few big men that can actually look good in the ring. I guess that I'll be happy with this if they use him to the best of his abilities. That is, they need to put him at the top of the company and let his personality decide from there. He could be a great asset, but he could also be just another guy. I hope it's not the latter.

If its true that Show has trimmed down to 440lbs, and can keep the weight off, then he might have a chance at a decent run.
Does anyone remember a good few years back, when Show was out there having fun, spoofing Hogan amongst others? That was hilarious and apparently that was his actually personality on show. He is a really nice guy and a bundle of laughs back stage by all accounts. I'd like to see him portraying that type of character again.
With Khali, Umaga, Mark Henry and Big Daddy V, the last thing WWE needs is another 'Monster Heel'!
Show grew to be a good worker from the psychology point of view and knowing how to out a match together. He was a great personality as a heel or a face and I think he will reappear in the Rumble match as a face.
I think he has to feud with Khali to see if he can help him improve and teach him how to work as a big man. when he's lazy he has no business is the ring but when he's on form and motivated he can deliver a fair match. to be fair, he was working the last year in the WWE with a dodgy back, which was pretty harsh when you consider he wasn't just main eventing ECW but was often working RAW and SD PPVs too.
Plus he would be a fresh face for the main event on whichever show he lands on - preferably SD.
I agree he'll return at the rumble. Can see him coming in after one of the "giants" has cleared the ring and thinking they are great and unbeatable. BUt then Big Show returns and dumps him out of the ring.
