Am sure some of you have saw Blood: The Last Vampire the anime. For me I thought it was alright, it had a LOT of potential and it looked great but I think it was ruined by the length and the story.
Anyway, they have been working on a Live Action adaption for some time now with everyones favourite Korean actress Jeon Ji-Hyun or her now English name Gianna Jun from Windstruck, Daisy, Il Mare and of course the mega popular My Sassy Girl.
At first I thought how could she play Saya they are like 2 completely opposite types of people, but there has been some new photos of this film surfacing on the net and I actually have high hopes for it now. It is being directed by Chris Nahon who made Empire of the Wolves which was enjoyable and Kiss of the Dragon which I loved. It is in post production and is believed to be released around June/July this year.
Plot: A vampire named Saya, who is part of covert government agency that hunts and destroys demons in a post-WWII Japan, is inserted in a military school to discover which one of her classmates is a demon is disguise. imdb.com

Note - I hope you don't mind Jack but I edited this because the pictures - while reduced on the page - were friggin' huge so I took the liberty of replacing them with thumbnails to save everyone some bandwith and loading time.. MIB
Hmmm....my Firefox browser keeps locking up every time I open this thread. Anyone else have this problem?
Anyway, according to IMDB this is shot in Hong Kong but in English and a mostly English speaking cast. Hmmm.....
Hopefully, if they follow the story and the essence of the original Anime then this could be good. I'm sure you are aware that there was a full series sequel called Blood + (which is still awaiting a UK release) so it could be a possibility that they'll draw from that too.
But this should be a good film if they can successfully combine story and effects and not let it become a complete CGI-fest with no plot.
That looks pretty cool, iv seen the anime sometime back and this movie is the kind i really enjoy as i usually love anime to live action films, all being top quality (Death note, Dororo, Ninin, Cutie Honey..Endless of great anime to live actions) and the cast sounds good.Looking forward to this.
Thanks for the thumbnails, I would have done that if i'd known how >_<
Apparently Jeon Ji-Hyun was staying in the States for quite a while learning english, so am guessing they must have filmed some of the movie there aswell. It's an interesting project. Hopefully we get a trailer soonish.
