I was going to post about Burchill in the dark match on RAW which I thought great he's coming back. Then I read this...
I can't believe I am reporting such a story, but believe it or not, Vince McMahon has apparently signed off on doing an incest angle involving former Smackdown star Paul Burchill and Katie Lea (developmental diva from Ohio Valley Wrestling), reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. McMahon has finally gotten his way, as he has been wanting to do an incest angle for sometime, dating back to the Ken Shamrock-Ryan Shamrock storyline. He also apparently suggested that he "father" Stephanie's baby. Prepare for all hell to break loose in the press. As if they didn't have enough ammunition to hate the WWE already. Don't they remember Katie Vick?
Brilliant..No wonder i stopped watching WWE regulary a while go with tasteless rubbish like this and worse still it has to be 2 of our own british wrestlers playing the parts..Nice job Vince.
The irony with the Katy Vick angle was that it was designed to get the WWE mainstream press attention and it failed. Only the wrestling media and fans were up in arms about it.
Possibly in this post-ben0it world they might get some attention but generally I think it will go largely unnoticed by the mainstream media. Supposedly, it's more in line with Cruel Intentions (step brother and step sister) then proper incest. At least I hope it is....
Still, on the upside, it will get two talented British wrestlers some proper TV time with a bit of luck. At present our only representation on TV is Regal. Any word as to which brand this story line will run on?
What the hell? Incest? You have got to be kidding me! Vince has gotten close before, but I think that this is crossing the line. But hey, he's a billionaire for a reason. And he could care less about what the press says of him.

With Vince you never know whether he genuinely plans on doing it, or if it's just a "leaked" story to stir up some publicity. And we all know Vince subscribes to the "There's no such thing as bad publicity." ethos...
The Burchills have already worked dark matches with this gimmick so Vince is clearly intent on running with it.
Did you know before Billy & Chuck, Vince wanted Brian Christopher and Scott II Hotty to have a gay wedding when they were heels as Too Much? Jerry Lawler stepped in and got the idea quashed.
Dan Severn revealed on a radio interview recently that Vince wanted to have him be the Undertaker's disciple complete with the 666 on his head! Needless to say, Severn refused and threatened to shoot on all of his opponents in the ring...
Vince has a lot of wacky ideas.I just wish he wouldnt let half of them on Tv,because who wants to see an Incest angle? What a terrible storyline for 2 very talented workers like Paul and Nikita.I heard about the Too much rumour before but i never heard that one about dan severn! Jeez..good thing they didnt go through with that because Dan is one tough sob so to have him shoot on people wouldnt be a very good thing.I remember him being a massive flop in WWE, mainly because he has little to no charisma.
That's why they wanted to give him the 666 gimmick because he wasn't getting over on his wrestling alone. And to be frank, at that point in 1998 the WWE wasn't about wrestling and UFC was still little known then.
The Burchills debuted on RAW taped last night for next week.
Hmm did anyone see Raw then? This was a pretty weird gimmick, it was like the crowd were laughing at what they said in a "haha, that sounded like he fancies his sister" then as the promo continued the crowd clicked.
Burchill did look impressive in his match but will casual wrestling fans not watch and realise that he used to be a pirate and now he's suddenly not but he bangs his sister...
Come on... People ignore gimmick switching as par for the course! Glen Jacobs going from a psycho dentist to Taker's "little" brother, was probably the last one to turn heads before people stopped caring.
Yeah but at least he looked different and had a different name. If they can change the gimmick gradually, like Burchill becoming a pirate in the first place or if they can take them off TV for a while and bring them back with a different name and attire then am all for it. But sometimes it's like they don't even try.
