To confirm, I'm a Jets fan but my NFC team is The Giants. I like NYC what can I say?!
I was going to play for the Kent Exiles last but was convinced to return to rugby. I will revert back to gridiron to play for The London Olympians this season.
Bret Favre has not only, fairly unsuprisingly, decided to cancel his intended retirement.
The shocking part is that this has gone hand in hand with him putting in an official request for his release from his contract with the Green Bay Packers.
Favre hadn't missed a match in 16 years going back to 1992. He holds almost every record going for a QB Including most consecutive regular season starts (253), most passing touchdowns (442) and most passing yards (61655).
When the average NFL career spans 4 years this is put even more into perspective.
However, while his return was half expected, him leaving "The Pack", where he is essentially a deity, has shocked football fans to the core.
(However, as a Jets fan I can't help but point out that he has a few years to go in terms of longevity to match former NY Jets QB Vinny Testaverde, who has a touchdown pass in 21 consecutive seasons. Thats equivecal to a player staying playing for Premiership teams and scoring at least once a season from 20 years old through to 41 years old. Legend!
I always check this out on good old Sky Sports. Not as boring as some Brits would like to admit.; I find that all the glitz and glamour makes this more entertaining than Rugby.

Well Favre has left "The Pack"... for the NY Jets!!!
I'm trying to stay level headed on this one as it remains to be seen if its a good or bad thing, but it's an honour to have a player like Favre in a Jets shirt.
EDIT: Now thats creepy. Favre's famous for wearing the number 4. And whats my post count... (for those looking after I post again its 444!)
In its early Channel 4 heyday, the sunday highlights was a real higlight of the week, but my knowledge of the NFL has dwindled somewhat in recent years. Rather like my team, the Miami Dolphins!
Imagine its the two minute warning, your team is on its own 20, down by 4 points...you need a QB who is gonna take you the length of the field and win the game...you need... Dan Marino!
