Edison Chen - Naughty Boy

As published in the current NEO mag, Hong Kong heartthrob Edison Chen has been a naughty boy lately. He took his laptop in for repairs and one of the technicians found a folder containing 1300 private nude snaps of a bevy of famous HK beauties taken by Chen and shots and video clips of him with them which he or she then posted on the net.

Among Chen's more famous conquests are Gillian Chung (who has left her house just once since this scandal broke for a press conference); singer Bobo Chan (who had her forthcoming wedding called off); Cecilia Cheung (hubbie Nicholas Tse is not a happy bunny) and 19 year old Vincy Yeung whose uncle has links with the Triads!! There are also a few lesser known girls include a few wannabe starlets and a couple of Japanese AV stars.

The perpetraitor has called themsleves "Kira" (oh yeah?) and has threatened to upload a video clip of Chen with Maggie Q doing the dirty deed.

Chen has "suspended his career" until this situation is resolved although that was just a face saving way of handling being dropped from his next film.

Yeah i heard about this from my chinese friend! She said its a huge scandal in china and everyone is hugely shocked by it,noone can bear to watch his movies now and a lot of anger is spreading around people about it.I didnt know it was him because she didnt tell me the name of the actor involved but wow...Shocking stuff.

Yeah I've been following this story for the past few weeks, I must say it sucks. It wasn't Edison's fault, he did nothing wrong but he is the one being punished. He has been dropped from all his films and pulled from advertising and I think his clothing label has been shelved. I watched an interview with him on youtube where he states he has now retired from Hong Kong and wont be making any more music or films over there.

As an Edison Chen fan I must say, this really sucks. I love all this movies and his acting has been getting better and better, Dog Bite Dog shows how good he can be. I wonder if his role in the new Batman flick will be effected. I love his music, his latest album was fantastic and I still listen to it religiously. But his clothing label is amazing! I have a few CLOT hoodies and Tshirts and a pair of jeans and I love them all, I hope CLOT doesn't close down because along with BAPE it is my favourite clothing label.

Also as a side note apparently Edison has almost lost all his money with financial crap and lawyers which is a shame. And the Triads have offered $500,000 to anyone who can deliver them EDC's hand. Wow.

And for anyone interested, I have all the photos haha, 40MB worth.

Iv been trying to some of the news on the phonix channel and some other chinese new sites but i could understand what the heck is happening and my friend,bless her and them, she has poor english so i didnt know the full story but man..it seems quite intense on the guy.Scandals like this about celebs in china are not so commen from what my friend tells me so its quite a big thing espicially for such a famous and reknown star to have done that.

If this was a big Hollywood star his career would have only got bigger lol.

And just Gillian Chung(Hottie from the twins, although I prefer Charlene), Celcia Chung (who looks hot, especially in the Cop outfit photos), Bobo Chan and some others I don't know.

To play Devil's Advocate, I don't think Chen is totally blameless here as he didn't really need to photograph or film his sexual exploits. And we don't know why he did it or why he kept them especially if the women have moved on with their lives. Plus he's a bit of a muppet to leave them on his laptop (see Glitter, Gary).

But, they were personal pics and this "Kira" person is a total git for making them public. Not that I condone blackmail but that would have been a more "acceptable" (for wanting a better term) course of action so to speak.

The industry being as fickle as it is and China being the way they are, I'm not surprised that Chen has been dropped like a hot potato. These people have their own public face to be concerned about, much like when Kate Moss lost all of her sponsors when her drugs scandal broke, so really their actions are understandable.

Whether time will allow for forgiveness and for Chen to be able to resume his career remains to be seen.

BTW - I like the sound of Cecilia Chung in a cop outfit.... wink.gif
