Yes as if we hadn't had enough with Tokyo Drift we now get another installement of the tyred (Get it?) series of car movies. But wait, before you write this off as an old banger FatF4 features the return of Vin Diesel AND Paul Walker! wow, bet you can't wait now...
On the plus side though, it also features former Miss Israel Gal Gadot (See below)
Earlier this week, we learned that a former Miss Israel had been cast in the film. Now comes word that Michelle Rodriguez, fresh from shooting James Cameron's AVATAR, will reprise her role as "Letty" in the new movie.
So says her official website, which you can find HERE. Among her many roles, Rodriguez appeared in the first FAST AND THE FURIOUS as the same character, did voice work for HALO 2, was a character in LOST, and even appeared in an Uwe Boll movie...undoubtedly the pinnacle of her career.
I dont mind these films, even if they can contain some poor excuses for acting. I read this on imdb: Brian is freed from prison (the authorities found out that he let Dominic go at the end of the first film) to help the feds stop a heroin importer known as Braga. With the help of an informant named James Park, Brian - and ultimately both Dominic Toretto and Sean Boswell - win a place on the criminal's team, where he - and his flashy Nissan plan to catch the man red-handed.
Now i thought the whole point of the second film was that the authorities knew he let Dominic go and therefore in exchange for his freedom he was to help them.
Also why does Sean from the 3rd film need to get involved.
The more i think about this film the more i am beginning to dislike it. Maybe by the Summer of 2009 i'll of forgot about it and then will be happy to see it
Well this now has an official title, so I thought we could have a quick game of guess the title. It's one of the titles listed below....
4 Fast 4 Furious The 4ast and the 4urious 2 Fast 2 Furiousē The Fast and the Furious Xtreme 480 The Fast and the Furious: 4 on da 4loor The Fastest and Furiousest The Fast and the Furious: 4tean Drift (ghost cars are somehow involved) 2 Fast + 2 Furious = 4Ever The Fast and the Furious 4: Now with Vin Diesel Again! Fast and Furious
Im up for this, i like the fast cars and women, anyone who watches these movies expecting a story is badly mistaken. if you watch them for what they are, they are great films(maybe not tokyo drift but it was a good change and a new aspect of street racing). im sure i will enjoy 4
Vin Diesel is directing a fifth Fast and the Furious film, even before the fourth film has even been released. This fifth film will be a prequel to the fourth film, Fast and Furious.
However there's something worth noting, this is only a twenty minute short film, and as yet we don't know how the film will be shown.
My guess is that this will be for a DVD extra, but the interesting thing to consider is that if Vin Diesel does well we may just see a full length film from him, after all he's already returned to the franchise, perhaps he could take a crack at directing one?
The news comes from Coming Soon and tells us that Vin Diesel is directing the fourth instalment in the Fast and the Furious franchise. This will be a prequel to Fast and Furious, the fourth film which is yet to be released, and the word is that this will bridge the gap for the characters between films bringing us up to the starting point of the fourth film, Fast and Furious.
Vin Diesel is no stranger to directing, or writing, or producing, he did all these things on a film called Strays. Now the Filmstalker review rating may be low , but do bear in mind that it's a DVD review and the picture quality isn't great and the extras are very limited, however the film is a bit of a surprise.
What's most surprising is hearing about the work that Diesel put into it, particularly in last night rewrites before the last day of filming where they had to fit in a whole weeks worth of shooting due to running out of money on the production.
It's a surprisingly strong film, and the DVD reveals so much more about his talent than the gruff action star we so often see.
It's not his only directed feature, there was Multi-Facial which he also wrote, produced and starred in, and he has Hannibal the Conqueror coming up, so he does have the talent.
I'd actually be interested in seeing what he could do with this short, and if the third in the series does well and the fans go to see Fast and Furious, perhaps we'll see him get a stab at a proper fifth Fast and the Furious film? Is that something fans would want?
The trailer for Fast and Furious, the latest film in the franchise which features the return of Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster, is now online.
It's been bootlegged without any sound and so someone has added their own sound track over the top, so probably a double copyright break there, but it's online none the less and you can watch it here.
The action looks pretty damn good, and with a better version we could really be seeing something exciting. It's only one main action sequence, but everything around it looks action packed, and there's the stars headlining the trailer too.
What is great is the tagline, I love this:
'New Model, Old Parts'
Come on, you have to love that don't you?
Fast and Furious is the fourth in the franchise (yes I got my numbers right this time) and sees Brian released from prison only to team up with Dom once again as they work with the authorities to bring down a drug importer in order to ensure Dom's freedom.
The film is directed once again by Justin Lin with David Ayer, Ernesto Foronda and Chris Morgan writing.
We've been waiting for the official Fast and Furious trailer since it was leaked without any audio and with a terrible picture not that long ago.
Good news today then that the full version is released online and it has audio as well as a picture that's as clear as day.
We already saw the trailer, but we missed so much because of the poor quality and the fact that there was no audio. Well that's all fixed as it appears online in much better quality.
Fast and Furious sees the return of the old crowd from the first film with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster taking up the leads.
This one's directed by Justin Lin who directed The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and written by Chris Morgan, writer of Tokyo Drift and also Wanted and Cellular. Already it sounds like an interesting mix, and the trailer doesn't disappoint.
You have to know the story by now, but if you don't, Brian is released from prison and teams up wtih Dom once more in order to bring down a heroin importer and secure both their futures outside of prison.
Some people may ridicule these films but I love them. Action, fast paced, great cars, big attitudes, and Vin Diesel is a lot of fun to watch on screen, as is Michelle Rodriguez and the rest of the cast.
I'm on board, and frankly I don't want them to end now. Who can dare to slag off this franchise when there are so many remakes around? Bring them on I say.
