What Will Flair Do Next?
Permalink Closed

So, now that the in-ring career of the legendary Ric Flair is (apparently) over, what should he do next?

According to PowerSlam, Flair signed a new 3-year contract in November 2007 and if that is true, that leaves him with 2 1/2 years to fill.

Hopefully, he won't be tempted to get back in the ring at any time, and hopefully the WWE won't let him. After the massive build-up to his retirement, that would be disastrous.

Personally I think that he should be given a group of young talent, possibly scouting them on tv beforehand, and build an old style stable. Whoever he is given would surely benefit from his vast experience.

Your thoughts?

PWInsider.com says he will have a backstage and PR role as well as working with his finance company.

As an on-screen talent then manager to a young talent is perfect for Flair as he not only has the mic skills to carry them along but also the credibility to get them over (if they are good enough).

I say the on screen manager role would be excellent. In fact put him with CM Punk. Instant PPV Buys!

Hopefully a managerial role or something like that but i wouldnt be to surprised to see him wrestle again in a year or two.Terry Funk must have retired severn or 8 times and he kept coming back,so i just cant imagine Flair not wrestling ever again.

CM Punk would be ideal. Also, guys like John Morrison and Paul Burchill are talented mid-carders that could be elevated by an association with Flair.

Punk doesn't need Flair. He's already over on his own and is a more than capable talker.

Morrison - maybe, but turning Flair heel now might not work.

Burchill - not a chance. He's British therefore won't get a push. Davey Boy was lucky but look at Regal...

If they put Flair with anyone it needs to be either a fresh talent currently in the developmental promotions, or as yet unsigned by WWE.

I actually think the best person to put him with is DAVE as he would benfit from not having to talk... ever.
