Grand Theft Auto the movie??  Please stop this madness!!  What make's it worse is that Uwe Boll reckons he's the man for the job.  here's an article from Empire:

At first the self-delusion and hugely inflated opinion of his film-making skills were funny... Uwe Boll, the German director who makes bad films from good computer games, what a guy, eh!

But now hes gone too far and intervention must take place. Boll, it seems, has plans to make a Grand Theft Auto movie. Yep, you read that right.

Boll recently confessed to Vulture in typically modest style that hes the perfect man to helm Grand Theft Auto: The Movie and he would make a very brutal adaptation.


Grand Theft Auto would be super interesting for me, and I think I would actually be the right guy to do it, because my movies are all bloody and violent and I don't have a problem with action scenes, said the director. But they will go in the end with a Michael Bay or a Brett Ratner and it will be a PG-13 movie made for $150 million. I think it would be better to make a $30 million, very hard, brutal movie without compromising, but I'm not optimistic.

Unsurprisingly, Rockstar Games (which produces the GTA franchise) has chosen not to comment on the offer.

Were it not for his appalling back catalogue, you could almost applaud Bolls self-assurance but we cant help but think that this is a really bad idea. Despite our usual partisan stance when it comes to cinematic stupidity, Boll has proved that he simply cant learn from his mistakes. Of course, if his latest game-adaptation flick, Postal, manages to trounce Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull at the box office, theres actually a chance that A Boll Production of Grand Theft Auto: The Movie could become reality and for the sake of mankind we simply cannot let that happen people we must rise up and speak out, stop this Bollocks now!


You can sign a online petition to stop Uwe Boll making more movies.  If it gets to 1 million sigs then he has said he will stop.  As a sweetner though you can get some free chewing gum if you sign up....  HERE

Oh boy...Cant they stop with the video game to film rubbish? Every one of them barr Silent Hill and Final Fantasy Advent children (which is really a sequal to the game anyway), have been atrocious.Its odd because i always though the Grand Theft Auto series were always based on gangster movies in the first place.How on earth would they do this anyway? GTA is a game which moslty involves running down people in cars for fun and causing all out chaos by killing people! This movie would have none of that!

i've enjoyed quite a few of the game to movie adaptions, i liked bloodrayne, doom, etc
maybe i just like the violence. i think GTA the movie would be good if done correctly, maybe like a choose your own adventure movie, where you get to pick which missions to do when, it would be easy to do using chapters on dvds etc.

It might be okay,but the whole point and succsuss behind GTA,is the fact it was an open enviroment that took place in a city.You could steal cars,beat up hookers,shoot people,perform missions,etc.

I don't see,even if they give it a great story,being able to translate the feeling you get from playing the game into a movie.

seeing people steal cars in a movie is okay,but doing it yourself in a virtual enviroment is something on a different level all together.
