What is you all time favourate Hollywood REMAKES.

When Hollywood get stuck for a movie they look the the back catalogue of movies, which have either been a massive success or a massive flop.  They trawl the golbal movie market for Action and Romantic movies and give them the Glitz.

So here is the where you get the chance to big up the best and worst of Hollywoods out put.

You can post as many good and bad movies, which the Hollywood machine have produced.  Say what the film is and what original was.

I'll kick us off -:

FAV REMAKES

The Birdcage - La cage aux folles

Worst

the lady killers
get carter
the itilian job

Favourite? Erm.....

Least favourite:

Godzilla
The Ring
Dark Water

I refuse to watch the likes of Italian Job, Alfie, Get Carter, etc. out of principle.

Ditto with Mib.The Remakes of films are diabolical.Iv not even tried to watch US versions of Asian films nor see any of the remakes of Micheal Caines classics like Italian Job and Get Carter.I also hated the Johnny Depps Charlie and the Choclate factory, which i know is closer to the book then the original musical but it just didnt do anything for me,the original will always hold a special place.Godzilla was an utter disaster.

I quite liked the Adam Sandler remake of The Longest Yard and also the recent reincarnation of Miracle on 34th Street.

Oh and Baz Lurman's Romeo and Juliet was ace.

Worst Remake:
The'reimagining' of Psycho & Planet of the Apes

I thought this was for non-Hollywood originals only.

In that case, the Dino DeLaurentias remake of King Kong sucked but Peter Jackson's was great.

The Lindsay Lohan remake of Freaky Friday was a bit too sappy compared to the Jodie Foster original. And Jerry Lewis was much better as The Nutty Professor than Eddie Murphy.

See I thought the Jackson version of KK was overlong and dull. Ice skating in Central Park... Indeed.

Yes it was too long but mostly it worked. They could have cut a good thirty to forty minutes from it but Jackson seems to like making long films...

There was?

Wow, that's as bad as Titanic being 3 1/2 hours then having an extended Directors Cut or the same with the LOTR trilogy!
