Jericho is actually trying to steal HHH's belt which doesn't make much sense given that they are on different shows. But i assume this trailer was made awhile back before all this draft stuff happened.
Think it was Wrestlemania 21 (in Hollywood) when they were referring to films all the time.
Yeah that was actually quite cool. Be interesting to see Y2J and Punk work together. Anyone else feel DAVE is becoming more and more of a white elephant?
D'yknow what after I typed that I realised I didn't know who I actually WOULD put on there... I know she's the latest top Diva, I suppose I would have to go for Michelle McCool. I just find Maria bland.
And Michelle McCool isn't bland? Skinny generic blonde with implants and zero personality - check!
Anyway, it's not meant to be a serious poster, just your typical teaser, like the Kelly Kelly one for WM 24 with her on the beach. you know, sex sells and all that...
I know that as I stated I said it with no solution. The problem the WWE currently have is since Trish, Torrie and Miss Hancock moved on they don't really have any decent replacements that can reach there particular level. Even Lita fell just short. They really need to find someone with that X Factor that the other 3 all had in spades...
The whole Lita heel turn thing sucked. Her high flying style made her very watchable and led to some good matches, making her much better suited to being a face. I know it was alot to do with real life as well but I never bought her with the whole sexed up evil bitch thing (sexy though it was!). She was much better in the whole indie/rocker stage with team extreme and at that time I would have rated her above Trish, Torrie and "Miss Hancock".
I disagree. The heel turn saved Lita from being the same bland character she always was.
Her mic skills improved as did her on-screen presence. Her ring work suffered (but was never that great anyway) but a broken neck and knee injuries will do that to you.
How can you say she was bland next to Trish, Torrie, Stacey yada yada yada?! At least she could actually put on a watchable match! Trish improved but the others were never that good.
I never compared Lita those other women and I clearly said her character was fairly bland which it was. She may have had a look that separated her from the cookie-cutter blondes but she was effectively a cookie-cutter babyface and her character needed a bit of revitalising.
Her heel turn actually gave her a personality which she was lacking before and it helped improve her mic skills and general on screen presence. This is often the case with babyfaces who are missing that intangible spark which only seems to surface once they turn heel - see The Rock, Cena, WCW era-Jericho, etc for good examples of this.
I still don't think she was *that* great in the ring outside of the Hurancanrana and Moonsault but in her pre-injury run she was different from the other Divas and thus more exciting to watch. However, she did get sloppier as the years wore on post injury so she made the right decision to retire.
Molly Holly, Trish Stratus, Gail Kim, Jacqueline, Ivory, Victoria, Jazz, Mickie James - yeah real sucky opponents...
BUT... whom from that group ever really got a push or a long enough stretch to really get a rivalry with her of any note...? Oh yeah, we're back to the original handfull...
The thing about Lita was that she was more of a special attraction wrestler due to her popularity so her feuds were largely born out of her association with The Hardyz rather than her as an individual. This lessened her interaction within the Women's Division and also meant she didn't really need the title which allowed the other women to develop their own rivalries and get them over.
She also spent a lot of time on the injured list and ended up being usurped by her peers in the woman's division both athletically and by Trish as the No 1 babyface. But again, she was still over enough to be used outside of the division as demonstrated by her role in the Kane-Matt Hardy storyline.
In many ways Lita was something of an anomaly in that she was able to transcend the division she was meant to be part of.
i tend to agree that Lita was a special attraction of sorts and like Chyna who was also a special attraction somehow lost her way when booked against women workers. For the record, Lita was not actually a very good wrestler technically though interesting acrobatically. It is interesting to note the addition of the divas championhip on smackdown and how this develops. Will this be a belt for the bra and panties brigade or a belt for women wrestlers. With McCool and Neidhart going for it it could well go either way but if they do decided to make it about the sexy rather than the worker then i wonder which title will get precedence on pay per views? Will we see the talented but not that great to look at Mickie James against Beth Phoenix or will we see Michelle McCool vs Maria Kinellis? I guess we will have to wait until summerslam to find out See how i tied it back together there to the original thread? Genius stuff
"talented but not that great to look at Mickie James "
Tell me you did not just say that about the hottest Diva in the WWE?
About the SD Divas Title - It would appear that WWE is beginning to once again focus on the wrestling aspect of the division rather than T&A. It seems to be a cyclical thing with them where every few years they decide to take the women seriously and let them wrestle rather than put them out there in bra & panties matches or other tacky displays of outdated exploitative time wasting.
I think they have good to capable workers on both brands to make this work although I can't see there being another breakout star like Trish Stratus just yet.
And if either the Women's or Diva's titles are defended at Summerslam it will be the first time a Women's title match has appeared on that PPV since 1999!
i think Melina is the best worker at the moment. I have to say i have never seen such a rapid improvement for a worker over such a short period of time. I think her working attitude and commitment are really first rate. Maybe that's unfair on Mickie who was good to start with but i love seeing progression from workers and i really think Melina best emphasises that quality though Trish Stratus is the best WWE manufactured female worker i think i have ever seen
Not a fan of mickie myself,an ok worker but nothing to special.Nattie Neidhart for me is the best female worker in the company, having seen some of her joshi matches in japan, she has fantastic ability.Shes my faverate in the company right now, Melina is good to,i think she and Victoria are better then Mickie.
ah yes, Khali hasn't jobbed to the game yet has he? I knew there was someone left who hadn't beaten him! Man, don't you think Undertaker regrets putting him over so hugely a couple of years back seeing as how everyone else has been allowed to beat the piss out of him? Viva la mattitude!!!! Here's hoping he gets the job done against fat albert
HITC should be good and hopefully will headline. Cena vs batista and Punk vs Kane look likely bets for RAW
I don't think they will rush Cena vs DAVE - it's too much of a big money match. That will keep for WM 25. Cena will no doubt face JBL again or maybe DAVE will. Or it will be a three way with Punk vs Dave vs Kane.
I think Taker got his fair share of revenge against Khali when he beat him up on SD a few months back prior to Kahli's hiatus back to India.
The only good thing to come out of Hardy vs Henry is that Matt is finally getting pushed to the top; shame it's on the least important brand of the company...
The official Summerslam website has launched and can be found HERE. It's very UFC looking isn't it? Looks like Joey Styles has decided to bring the WWE into the 21st web century then.
So with:
HHH Vs. Great Khali (WWE Title Match) Edge Vs. The Undertaker (Hell In A Cell) John Cena Vs. Batista (Grudge Match) Mark Henry Vs. Matt Hardy (ECW Title)
So far it actually looks like a card that would peak my intrest. Sure HHH Vs. Khali is likely to be a bit duff, but HHH can pretty much carry anyone to a semi decent effort and as long as it stays a brawl, you never know. The Hell in a Cell should be match of the night contender, Hopefully Hardy will get the win and Im no fan of Batista or Cena, but this is a Wrestlemania Main Event match, so could be intresting.
Cena vs DAVE shouldn't happen until WM 25. It's the only big money match they currently have that has never been done before so it makes sense to hold it at their biggest show of the year. Giving it away with just two weeks left to build towards it is madness.
