Much like the excuse they gave with Rocky 5 - Rocky Balboa that the franchise wasn't ended properly , Brett Ratner he of Rush Hour has got Eddie 'In need of a hit film' Murphy to sign on.

Apparantly Eddie agreed for that reason, trhen rumours started circulating that it would be a PG-13/12a type affair as was with 3.  Ratner and Murphy have been online to quash those rumours:

Now Ratner has come forward to address the rumors, explaining to Latino Review that apparently everything on the internet is not factual:

"Dont believe everything you read on the internet. Believe me, this is going to be a hard core 'R' Beverly Hills Cop. I start shooting next year"

Norbit also spoke up, telling MTV why he has committing to the fourth film:

"Because the third 'Beverly Hills Cop' was horrible!" the once and future Detective Axel Foley laughed. "I didn't want to leave it like that. The first two were cool and the third one was sh---y. [Let's] get the franchise fixed again, clean up this old mess and do a good movie.

some on go and kill all the excutive producers in hollywood if they come up with another lame brained sequal.

too late i believe Independance 2 is on the books

ooooo another sequel, why didn't i think of that.

Maybe we can get the writers to go on strike again to prevent more rubbish sequels getting produced.
