Am I the only one who is fed up with all the action, horror and thriller film trailers these days adhering to the same format of the quick shot followed by the quick fade out then into a montage of quick edit shots that make it difficult to see what is the film is about?
On the SawIV DVD I just watched there were four trailers for other releases and every one of them followed the exact pattern I outlined above to the letter (including the one for The Condemned)!
Yes it works to certain type of pyschological mind retention. Also, they latch onto what works previously. When they see amovie do well from the buzz from a trailer they will follow it.
I can't remeber the last original trailer I saw that actually made me bolt out of my seat and go i have to see that. Maybe the episode I trailer for star wars she stood alone, but other than that I can't think of one. I LOVE trailers too.
Er no....I meant referring back to my original post, I was asking if anyone agreed with me that every horror, thriller and action trailer using the same format was getting tiresome and ineffective.
