TNA No Surrender thread all event related chat in here and let's start with this one...
Dave Meltzer is reporting that the planned main event for TNA's next PPV, No Surrender on 9/14 has been changed. The original plan was to book TNA champion Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash. The new plan is to feature either a tag team or a six man tag team match. At last word, the final decision had yet to be made (or who would be involved), but we'll have a good idea the direction at this week's Impact tapings on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Some of those matches rather presumptuous - the tag title match for instance has yet to have any kind of set up on TV; And Kurt and AJ have yet to have their qualifying matches for the main event (as predictable as their victories are).
The show was fairly pedestrian despite a hot Canadian crowd but the booking was largely abysmal. heel Sting cut another babyface promo and challenged the TAN Champ for BFG; They seem to be teasing a split between Abyss and Morgan despite only working two matches together; the Ladder match was fun with some cool new spots but again it was the Russo finish that killed it; and the MMA match bombed big time. The fans chanted "We Want Wrestling" "Fire Russo" and "This Is Bull***" and that was before the lame finish. And they even showed close-ups of the crowd doing these chants!
Overall, I can't really call this show a big success.
Stings a heel now? It bombed before in WCW so why try it again? The show sounds mildy entertaining, the Knockout matches ill watch on You tube,i only ever watch their stuff.
And Sting is a heel because of the way he keeps berating Joe and AJ Styles for not respecting him and the business. Theoretically of course - but the fans won't boo Sting despite him talking and acting heelish against the big babyfaces so TNA have screwed up again!
I doubt fans could ever take to Sting being a bad guy,the guy is just a natural face, always has been, plus it seems he cant act heel by what i rememeber seeing him in WCW.And as for Bret..well he is a bit of a bitter so and so these days...
Only because people keep asking him about Montreal. They accuse him of not letting it go when that is all they ask of him and WWE/TNA keep rehashing it. If he was that bitter he would not have joined the WWE HOF.
I didnt know that :) sorry about bad wording him then,i wouldnt like to hear such bad comments about my faverate wrestler, unfortunatly we all know what happened to him dont we :(...Back on topic did Foley make his debut at all at the show?
