World Cinema Film channel on SKY

Just flicking through the SKY EPG and I discovered a film channel called World Movies on Ch 331.

It runs from 6.25pm to approximately 6.45am every day and true to its title, it shows films from all around the world - and yes, that includes the Orient - that normally wouldn't see the light of day on UK TV.

Obviously being a small, niche channel it has a regular rotation of its titles but what they have on offer looks interesting.

There's a Japanese film called Sway on at 7.00pm tonight starring Joe Odagiri of Shinobi and Mushi-shi fame.

On Tuesday night at 9.00pm, this channel is showing a "classic" Japanese film from 1970 in The Ambitious. This historical drama is based on the story of the real life Samurai Ryoma Sakamoto who sought to bring Japan into modernity and create a government in the late 19th century.

It's repeated at 9.30pm on Thursday.
