Overrated films

Hasent been a new topic in here for ages so thought id might start off this little discussion, what films that are often praised or well liked universally, are movies that you didnt take to or enjoy as much as others do? Films that seem well loved and popular yet to you,are not all that good. For myself,iv quite the long list.I heard a lot of good things about Blazing Saddles but apart from the ending of the film,i actually found it quite dull and little reason to laugh at some parts, and i like Mel brooks work, but i just didnt enjoy it at all.Wasent to keen on back the future either, mainly because i find christoper lloyd very annoying! What do you guys think are overrated, or you didnt enjoy that are well recieved by most people?

Sorry, just never really liked them. They're OK but just not due all the hype they get. Same for Apocalyps Now

Indy I can ignore, but StarWars?! Some people don't like 'em (weird Trekkie types) but you must atleast watch them. Well the original trilogy anyway. I will send you my box-set to assist!

Being a 'weird Trekkie type', I have to say (risking lynching by other forum members!) that I don't like Star Wars!

A friend of mine recommended Napoleon Dynamite and Garden State to me, saying that they would be films I would like. How wrong she was! The former is the worst film I've ever seen, and the latter, although having a cast of actors I really like, was decidedly poor.

That may be because it has been superceded by the likes of Hero and House of Flying Daggers but at that time it was the new benchmark for modern Martial Arts drama films.
