Before I start this Thread has been agreed with D.M
Many years ago I started collecting comics and graphic novels.
After a long period of being away from comics. I have been talking with various people in the industry and am delighted to announce, after the launch of the new version of www.flyinghippy.co.uk at some point next week. I will be stocking Comics, Manga, Graphic Novels and Movie related Toys and Memorabilia in the near future.
My Question to CPC Forum users is simply, what are you interested in ?
DC or Marvel Comics or Independent Publishers? Your favorite comic titles or any story lines that you have liked.
About 15 years ago I enjoyed Spiderman story lines they were very in depth and carried on for ages, especially the clone story.
GROO THE WANDERER was another of my favorites. It was from a small comics company Pacific Comics a comedy / fantasy about a barbarian who wasn't smart.
I was a huge big fan of marvel and DC comics for a long time a few years back,i loved Ghost Rider as my faverate comic book hero and the Justice League/Advengers Crossover story line from a little while ago with the avengers and justice league entering each others dimensions before crossing pathes, with Thor battling superman, which was pretty incredible stuff. Also liked the supergirl comic books. But my main reading source is manga these days,iv read the whole battle royal saga and enjoying currently the School Rumble and Death note shows along with battle athlete,Dragonball,Love Hina,A.I love you and Bleach.School Rumble is my faverate,a charming story of high school life with cute main characters (tenma chan being adoreable!) and funny episodes.
I was a big fan of Manga and Anime years ago, I Liked fist of the North Star but the movie had been complete cut to bits half way through.
I had the Crying Freeman graphic Novels and a few one offs.
I will be doing Manga Graphic Novel Collections.
I will be stocking School Rumble Volume 11 but am not sure as to the release date.
Will be also stocking complete season uncut DVDs. At the moment Im waiting to find out what region DVD they will be, most DVD machines these days are multi region.
I will be doing American Comics as the UK comics seem to be a year or so behind on some of their story lines. I will also be getting comics from the smaller publishers as few of them do have talented writers and artists.
As mentioned their are a lot of cool toys out their, years ago the Japanese Transformer use to transform and have bb pellets that fired from them. Saw one at a film convention go for £170 wish I bought one as a kid, they were around £5
Well, I used to read DC and Marvel comic when I was a nipper but I was never a devoted fan that eagerly awaited the latest issue.
Nowadays, I'm into Manga but since I don't have much in the way of disposable income, my purchases are few and far between. Usually I get stuff either in "2 for 3" deals at Waterstones or from Amazon who often knock about £2.50 of the RRP so occasionally buying in bulk (to make the £15 free delivery ) pays off!
With Anime, there is a ton ofstuff that either doesn't get released over here or we have to wait for it to follow the US release. Again, price is an issue because the market is small over here so the prices are often high in orderfor the distributors to make a return.
So, a vast range of Manga andAnime DVDs at competitive prices would have to be the ticket to entice someone like me to patronise your site.
