Stan "The Man" Stasiak - father of WCW/WWE loser Shawn Stasiak. He was a 9 day transitional champion from babyface Pedro Morales (whom he defeated on December 1st 1973) to babyface Bruno Sammartino (who took the title December 10th '73).

Ironically it was Morales who became the next babyface champ after Sammartino's near 8 year reign when Morales defeated transitional champ Ivan Koloff in February 1971.

Khali, Punk, Batista, Benoit and co aren't there because they've never been WWE Champions. They've been the World Heavyweight Champion, but not the WWE champion :)

I know. But personally I believe that since so many guys have held both titles and the WWWF/WWF title was always called the "World Heavyweight Title" prior to the second belt being created, most people would instinctively list guys like Benoit, Mysterio, DAVE, etc. and not observe any real distinction between the two titles.

i did it with 4:47 remaining but failed the champions one by missing JBL of all people. I guess i'm still in denial over that one. Still, only missed one and proud of that minor achievement though it made me think, there have been some right rubbish champions over the years
