Heres a place to chat about my favorite superhero Iron Man.
So, Robert Downey Jr is an intresting choice to say the least as Tony Stark but terrence Howard as Jim Rhodes is Inspired.. Maybe War Machine will get a look in after all.
Well here's the first look at the actual Iron Man armour from the upcoming movie. Ripped from the Entertainment weekly site:
Iron Man is the latest Marvel Comics superhero to jump from splash page to big screen. (The film is due May 2008.) Director Jon Favreau (Elf ) began shooting in March with star Robert Downey Jr. in his first comic-book role as the man inside the cybernetic Mark III suit (pictured) and Gwyneth Paltrow as his trusted assistant. In the film, Downey plays Tony Stark, a playboy industrialist who decides to don high-tech armor to fight baddies after suffering a life-threatening heart injury in war-torn Afghanistan. ''This is a decidedly adult superhero story,'' says Favreau. (Fanboy FYI: Look for Stark's legendary drinking problem to pop up in possible sequels.)Faithful to the comics and constructed by Oscar-winning F/X maestro Stan Winston, the Iron Man togs a far cry from Stark's normal black-tie attire are robo-cool but make for restrictive, sweaty duds. ''Robert was very bullish on wearing the suit whenever possible,'' says Favreau of his star, who bulked up for the role. ''Now I don't know if he's such a fan of that idea.''
God i hope its going to be better then the recent Marvel efforts like Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider ect. The Mandarin will be in the movie as well im guessing?
Whilst FF wasn't as good as it could have been (but still not THAT bad), you should see the 1994 unreleased version by Roger Corman. Now that is a bad film!
latest update. This time on the soundtrack (From Marvel.com)
The "Iron Man" movie details just keep on coming! According to director Jon Favreau's MySpace page, it's been confirmed that Hollywood soundtrack superstar Ramin Djawadi is the man to bring the "Iron Man" film to life with an epic score.
Djawadi, who studied film scoring at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, has lent his talents to several blockbuster scores such as "The Recruit," "Pirates of the Caribbean," and Marvel's own "Blade: Trinity." Dwjawadi even collaborated with film score legend and Academy Award Winning composer Hans Zimmer on box-office dominator "Batman Begins."
Ramin Djawadi is currently working those dramatic interludes you hear on the hit TV series "Prison Break," and with a guy like him on board, "Iron Man" is shaping up to be a Marvel masterpiece the likes of which have never been seen before.
Here's hoping this turns out to be a great movie.I was impressed with trailers I saw for FF2 and Elektra, but ended up dissapointed.I hope Iron Man delivers!
Now it's out (It's great BTW) check out it's opening weekend gross:
ComingSoon.net has posted the impressive box office estimates for Iron Man, which follow below:

The bank balance is barely warming up and they announce this:
Marvel Studios Sets Four More Release Dates! Source: Yahoo! Finance May 5, 2008
Marvel Entertainment released their first quarter report to its shareholders this morning to coincide with the announcement about the success this past weekend of Marvel Studios' first production Iron Man, which grossed an estimated $100.7 million domestically and over $200 million worldwide. The announcement included an update of Marvel Studios' feature film slate with the already-rumored Iron Man 2 announced for a release on April 30, 2010, followed by three more movies for the summers of '10 and '11. Matthew Vaughn's Thor is set for a release on June 4, 2010, and The First Avenger: Captain America (the working title) will kick off the summer of 2011 on May 6, followed by the highly-anticipated and foreshadowed The Avengers scheduled for July 2011. (Edgar Wright's Ant-Man is also listed as being in development with no release date set.)
With that in mind, one can start expecting a lot more announcements in the coming months about creative teams and casting for those movies including who might direct the Captain America and Avengers movies. (Whomever plays Steve Rogers AKA Captain America presumably will be making two movies at once.)
There will be a webcast for investors at 9AM Eastern at www.Marvel.com/webcasts where the same information should be relayed.
Theres rumours a certain Triple H is being considered being cast as Thor himself...granted he has the look and muscular build for it but the man cant act for toffee..
Downey Jr plays an industrialist who invents a high-tech suit of armour
Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr has signed up for a sequel to comic book adaptation Iron Man, due to be released in 2010, Marvel Studios has said.
The first Iron Man film was released at the weekend and took $98.6m (£50m) in three days in the US and Canada.
Following its success, a string of new movies based on other comic characters will be made.
They will include Thor, Captain America and The Avengers - a group of heroes not connected to the British TV series.
Hi-tech
Kevin Feige, head of production for Marvel Studios, said much of Iron Man's success was down to Downey Jr.
"It's great to see a sold-out audience that you know is made up of comic book fans and people who had never read an Iron Man comic in their life," he said.
Downey Jr plays a billionaire industrialist who invents a hi-tech suit of armour that transforms him into a superhero, with Gwyneth Paltrow playing his personal assistant.
Iron Man's takings represent a successful comeback for the actor, whose battles with drugs had seen his career suffer in recent years.
Early estimates said the film had taken $101m (£51m) in its opening weekend in the US and Canada, but final takings showed it had fallen just short of the $100m mark.
latest news on Shell Head and he's doing pretty well by all accounts...

Forgetting Sarah Marshall fell a place to three, while adventure movie Speed Racer entered the chart at four after taking a disappointing £362,000.
Family film Nim's Island dropped from number three to number five.

Black comedy In Bruges, gambling drama 21 and horror film The Eye made up the rest of the top 10.
Meanwhile in a new development on the North American box office chart, Speed Racer fell to third place after film studios over-estimated its success by $1.6m (£820,000).
Initial forecasts placed the film in second place after its opening weekend on $20.2m (£10.4m), but final figures revised this total to $18.6m (£9.5m).
The film - made by the Wachowski brothers, best-known for The Matrix franchise - cost $120m (£61.6m) to make.
Going into the weekend, Speed Racer had been the best hope of film studio Warner Bros of giving Iron Man, the current box office champion, a run for its money.
The change pushed What Happens in Vegas into second place after taking $20.2m (£10.4m), slightly above its original estimate.
I so cant wait to see this, i have just played the game on 360, i was told it was pretty poor, but i had no problem with it, it is a fun game. If the movie is as good as this, im gonna love it.
