Ok so I was thinking to myself how does one do justice to a cover version? and how many covers that have been releaced equel or better the original track?

I came up with these

Machine Head's cover of "Message in a bottle" by the police
Foo Fighters' cover of "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty
Bowling for Soup's Cover of "I Ran" by A Flock of Seagulls
A1's cover of "Take on Me" by A-ha
Sugababes' cover of "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" by Arctic Monkeys (The Guitaring is heavyer believe it or not :s)
Metallica's cover of "So What" by the Anti Nowhere League

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Early 90's English punk, with more of leaning towards melodic hardcore.

Melodic hardcore? Doesn't that defy the point...?

It is a bit of an oxymoron I grant you. It was the only words I could think of to describe the band.

It does make sence to a degree. Seeing as in flames are classed as Melodic Death metal. I'm guessing like Melodic light/intermidate riffing in the verses with actual singing then in the chorus Heavy riffage with screaming vocals. it's ok but it gets just as predictable as the main Genre.
