In this months Empire magazine they have a feature on this so I have shamefully ripped it off and I offer no apology.

The basics are 2 80's classsics which were relaeased at the same time had very mucha similar history and what we want to know is which would you associate with and why. You are not allowed to answer both Its a direct choice...

The films in question??

Gremlins & Ghostbusters

Myself I am sold out to the legend that is Ghostbusters in fact it is my number 1 film of all time. Other than Lost In Translation this is Bill Murray at his finest, yes it's even better than Stripes and Caddyshack!

Well this thread is going to be a bit dull then, I thought id at least have to educate somone..  Im so old I can even remember seeing these films at the cinema.

Did anyone notice my favorite movie of all time was on the TV tonight??  It doesn't matter how many times I see it The Busters is brill.


I think this is the movie where I really discovered Bill Murray...

Gremlins for me. Ghostbusters was a let-down and bettered by the sequel to my eyes. Now there's a thread to be stolen Darth.....Sequels out-doing their parent. I'd set it up myself but don't wish to appear as an intruding upstart-Angelic or otherwise.

I didnt get lost in translation? may be it was because i watched it at 3 in the morning but it seemed very slow. Maybe I should give it another chance ?

I have to say his old films were more funny, and you can watch them over again with out the brain working in overload.

Id have to say Ghostbusters too, Gremlins was ok, scared me more than Ghostbusters did as a kid, but I think Ghostbusters has more longevity (With story and special effects) than Gremlins does.
