Another classic thread stolen from many other forums...
I have just finished watching - Stay Alive via Review disc (I missed it at the cinema) What a load of pants, not even nearly scary. The storyis utterly ridiculous and the gore is completely missing. One avoid peeps..
It's the somewhat esoteric telling of two separate stories concerning two different policemen who fall in love with mystery women; one finds his love is unrequited while the other doesn't even realise he is the object of a young lady's desires..
I watched "The Wedding Singer" one of my favorate films. I've seen it like 140 odd times. I know it word for word but it still kicks ass (The Totally awesome Edition is better then the other 2 discs I've worn out because there's cool bits that weren't in the movie cut)
Thats a quality film there SoD. The bit near the beginning when he's absolute bladdered. Funny as
Yeah man when the kid's vomiting in the dumpster and the Guy howles. It cracks me up every damn time. That, and the part where he sings the song he wrote for Linda to Julia, wicked Acting.
Just seen Blood Diamond. DiCaprio perpetrates possibly the worst South Arfrican accent since Joss Ackland in Lethal Weapon 2. And Jennifer Connely... Seriously Foxxy!!!
Just watched Outlaw. What a big old pile of poo. Filmed on DV keeps zooming in and out and wobbly hand held type of thing. Bit dull really and it's hacked together appallingly. One to not worry about me thinks...
Just watched The Departed on DVD.Thought it was quite violent but a good ending. Have also just watched Perfume, what a load of rubbish, nearly sent me to sleep!
Just watched Goodfellas which I taped off Ch 4 the other night. I'd not seen it before and it always appeared in those "Must See Movies" lists so I gave it a go.
Not bad but I don't think it was as essential as it has been made out to be. Good performances all round and a neat twist at the end despite the notice at the beginning stating it was based on a true story. I liked how it seemed to glamorise the mob lifestyle then showed just how easily it could taken away, even by the people you are close with.
Howls Moving castle, my japanese friend is staying with me now and we decided to watch it, a charming story with the girl whom has to break the curse put on her by a witch. Meeting some fun and odd characters along the way, she falls in love with the main character (whos name escapes me right now), beautiful animated and fun movie, but not one of Ghilbis top films in my opinion.
Just watched Saw II I taped of SKY a few weeks back.
I have to say that the traps and gimmicks Jigsaw set up are very clever and I liked how they are always relevant to the person who falls into them.
The only thing is that after the way the first film ended you are always looking for that big twist to see if you can deduce what it might be before you get to the end.
I've just added Saw III to my DVD rental list now.
