I can't wait for this film. So glad that they didn't go down the line of using real actors as i think that would of been rubbish, hopefully it will be good.
I dont think they will stop even after those 5 seasons. As long as people are watching it they will continue to make it. I can see it running for another 10 years at least.
Id expect the Simpsons would be more succesful, ill be watching that first myself, being a huge fan of the show.Saying that,i loved transformers as well and the movie looks breathtaking but for me,the simpsons wins.I have a bad feeling the movie is going to be a huge letdown though.
Just seen on the news about the painting of Homer Simpson on the side of a hill (on private land) next to some really old chalk figure (on other land) that has been there for years. Some people are complaining about it, but I just think it is funny.
*Cough* Already posted in the current affairs thread *Cough*
Hopefully I should be going to see this film when it comes out next week.

Well thats a silly place to post that news considering this thread exists, I would never think of looking there, which means I am right and everyone else is wrong.
Im really excited about this film but i believe im going to miss this being away from the country for a while, have no idea when the Japanese release date (if there is one) for this but i guess ill have to check on here and read your reviews of the film if you kindly will do that for me ^^.
Thanks Dark M.For some reason i didnt think it would be released in Asia just yet.ill be watching that for sure, unfortunatly the cost of going to Japanese cinema is a good 1500yen i heard (which is roughly 7quit in english money!) so it better be worth it!
I HAVE to see this movie, it looks bloody quality. I've beena fan ever since I first saw the simpsons when I was like 13 so I hope it doesn't disappoint :)
I think iv seen every episode of the Simpsons (i have every box set of the dvds so far) and while the new episodes have lost some of its magic, its still a quality show and the movie has been long overdue.Cant wait to see it,though i heard something about Bart being completley nude in the film with his part not being hidden away by anything,i hope its not true, that would be a little disturbing for some reason to me!
Ill be missing this when it opens here but i hope to catch the film next week.I really want to see more of Lenny and Carl as they are my faverate characters so i hope both feature in a good way during the film!
Itopened today and I have just seen it. Absolutely brilliant forget your fears this is Simpsons near its finest. Well worth a watch review will uptomorrow.
I have now seen it too, if you love the Simpsons then you will love the movie. It has plently of laughs, the beginning is extremely good.
Without giving too much away, the whole itchy and scratchy sequence is very good and shortly after that there is a very funny sequence with Bart on his skatebaord.
Homer is his usual self which is so funny, his whole 'spider pig' bit had me laughing lots.
Even Rod and Tod are funny near the end of the film.
I would recommend this film to anyone who likes the Simpsons.
I watched this on the weekend, and i have to say, definitly worth watching. There are alot of jokes aimed at the more mature audience and there are some seens that are not really for children (Flipping the bird for instance). But overall, very well made with alot of laughs.
They managed to make the transfer to the big screen successfully which isn't always the case with TV shows. There were some very clever jokes in the film and it actually had a proper story that ran throughout the whole film rather than act as a back drop for a load of in-jokes. Thankfully it was not an exercise in self indulgence as it could have been.
