Also I guess the Bleach series 1 box set is just series 1 part 1 and series 1 part 2 in a single set, nothing else added?

I ask because I already have Series 1 part 1 and expecting series 1 part 2 very soon.

That's usually the way.They sell a series individually then the boxset later. If the price is right I might go for the Coyote Ragtime box. I got the complete Ugly Yet Beautiful off the torrent site

According to a news report published by Eyeonanime.co.uk, UK distributor Manga Ent. have struck a deal with US anime publisher Funimation to release the following anime series in the UK on DVD:

* Black Blood Brothers Series 1 Part 1 (November 10th 2008)
* Ghost Hunt Series 1 Part 1
* Itsudatte My Santa!
* Jy-Oh-Sei: Planet of the Beast King
* xxxHOLiC Series 1 Part 1 (October 27th 2008)

No more information than the above has been revealed, and indeed, UK anime fans are bound to have many questions about this, not least of all whether or not Funimation have again switched their UK DVD distribution. This time from Revelation Films to Manga Ent., keeping in mind that the former originally replaced MVM Films as Funimation's UK distributor in 2006. More news has been promised for October's London Expo.

I hope this news item from AnimeUKNews isn't a sign that Revelation are going the same way as ADV after Funimation switched distibutors from Revelation to Manga:

For those wondering about the status of Revelation Films' Funimation titles, we contacted them directly and they responded with this rather grim sounding message.

'We have decided to postpone all of our remaining releases for 2008 and
concentrate on pushing our existing titles.

A full release schedule for 2009, including the postponed titles, will be
announced later in the year.

In addition to the already lengthy gaps between each volume there is only the final volume of Mushishi left to be released, two remaining for Beck - Mongolian Chop Squad as well as effecting many other releases including School Rumble, Suzuka and Tsubasa Chronicle. It doesn't look good for those of us collecting series from Revelation Films.

Much like ADV cancelling titles this would be another blow for UK Anime fans. Why they couldn't finish up some of these current titles (like Mushi-shi) is a mystery as well as a nuisance.

Hellsing Ultimate UK DVD release cancelled, rescheduled

Originally, Manga Entertainment had planned to release the first two episodes of Hellsing Ultimate in the UK on one DVD volume in August '08, however, according to a press release circulated earlier today by the publisher, that plan has now been scraped, as they did not have "[...] consent to release both [...]" episodes together, therefore Hellsing Ultimate will now be released in the UK with only one episode per DVD, as per the DVD release in the US. The full press release from Manga Ent. has been copied in below, which includes these new release dates for the series.

'Please note that there has been a change with the DVD release of Hellsing Ultimate. The release will now be as follows:"

* HELLSING ULTIMATE VOLUME 1 out to buy 13th October 2008

* HELLSING ULTIMATE VOLUME 2 - out to buy 29th December 2008

"Both releases will now be a single disc retailing at £14.99. Manga Entertainment would like to apologise for any disappointment this may cause fans. Unfortunately Manga do not have consent to release both volumes together.'
