I hope Man U make it to the final, but I have other motives than being a Man U fan.

I like West Ham and they have Man U the final game of the season, so I hope Man U are still in the champions league so they rest some players as West Ham will be fighting relegation.

YES! What a result and a fantastic performance by United, Ronaldo was out of this world, and Carrick had a excellent game, everyone of them did, even fletcher, but i was pleased most for Alan Smith, he deserved the goal which was a fantastic goal, delighted for the lad and he has a future with us at United. Cant believe how we destroyed them, Roma are a good side, being second in the italian league is not easy, even with all the scandals that had hit there over the last year or so. Hopefully Bayern will beat Milan in their match tomorrow, but im sure united dont fear either team. Sugoi!

Sorry for the double post again guys, just want to post my excitement about the champions league match between Milan and my boys United tonight! Cant wait to see this, hopefully United will get a good result though with our patched up defence, its going to be very difficult when facing the likes of Kaka, Giraldino and Inzaghi. Lets hope Ronnie and roony do the buisness tonight. Champions league nights are always exciting for me, so i cant wait to see this!

Well done liverpool. Now its time for us to do the job at the San Siro, i believe we can get a result which will take us to the final against Liverpool but its going to be tough. Gattuso and Kaka are the players im nervous about, Kaka is magnificiant and Gattuso is a huge factor to how Milan were 2-1 at half time in the first league.I was hoping hed be out but oh well. Cant wait!

8-0 to liverpool over an appaling Besiktas side, great stuff from the reds who showed they can play very good football when they want to.Tonight United have a tough trip to Kiev so a little worried about it but hopefully we can win this match and get to the next round.

Tonight is us vs Lyon. The unbelivable thing is that many fellow united supporters feel its a certainty that we will win but Lyon are a good side and have fantastic talent in Juninho and Benzema who is going to be a great player in the future.Any mistakes in defence and we will surely be punhished, maybe a 0-0 or 1-0 win for us i predict but its going to be tough.Sir Alex needs to make the final this year at least because his european record is the only thing that everyone seems to have a pop at.Another european cup to his name will surely quiet his critics because the man is a legend and a fantastic manager.

Arsenal are delusional if, as Cesc Fabregas say's, "They aren't intimidated by AC Milan". Four words; Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Kaka. Kind of puts Hleb, Diaby, Fabregas and Flamini into perspective hey...

Well it looks like Fabregas was right! 2-0 to them and 1-0 to us against Lyon. Its odd that the Gunners struggled against Villa but can turn it on against a true class side like milan..Amazing stuff.

Great performance by Arsenal tonight, showing that they can hang with the big boys of Europe and come out on top! As a neutral, it's fantastic that both teams advanced tonight.

Lets hope that Liverpool and Chelsea can join them in the last 8, leading hopefully to an all-English Final, and finally prove that the Premiership is the best league in the world!

I have to say Arsenal were magnificent. Totally dominated the old boys of Milan and made Kaka look average. Well done to Man U also comiserations to Celtic, here's hoping that Chelsea and Liverpool get through tonight. Wouldn't it be great to have an all english Champions leaue semi final.... Can't see it happening as the odss are way too long, but it would be Good. Oh and the same to our UEA cup teams.

English football is the best in europe!

there is a lesson to be learnt to all football teams when Manchester United play as badly as they did ( and im a supporter) you have to beat them.

aresenal did well but there are no easy games and i wonder when arsen wenger will complian about the amount of games hes playing with a depleted team ( poor dear)

From Sporting Life.... No love lost there then...

The former Blues boss reiterated his love for the club he managed for more than three years before his sensational departure in September.

But he is desperate to meet them in Champions League combat next season and knock them out of Europe.

"I hope to play them next season in the Champions League," said the Portuguese coach.

"If I play them in the Champions League, I want to go there and kill them - that's my message."

Mourinho was replaced by Avram Grant, who had originally been brought to Stamford Bridge as director of football.

He refused to express an opinion on his successor, saying: "I feel nothing for him, I feel everything for the club, but not for him personally.

"I still feel Chelsea is a part of me, I'll have Chelsea in my heart forever.

"I left and for five months you couldn't get a bad word from me in relation to the club and you cannot do it in the future too."

Mourinho's departure was shrouded in mystery, with the build-up dominated by rumours of a falling out with billionaire owner Roman Abramovich.

But he revealed he and the Russian had kept in contact and were on good terms.

"I think it was last week that I spoke with people from the club," he said.

"I was speaking with Mr Abramovich and (chief executive) Peter Kenyon because we still keep in touch.

"I was telling them I wish them always good, I wish them always to succeed, I wish them always to win."

To be honest the odds of them al being kept apart is very slim anyway. I don't know what the odds are on the 4 squads being drawn against the other four foriegn sides is but I bet it's massive.

I cant stand Liverpool, but big credit to them for getting so far each year. Its just annoying that they claim to be one of the best in europe though they fail to get close to becoming league champions each season, its like why bother with the league. In contrast my team United always do well domestically but in europe..I dont think we will win it this year.Probably Liverpool or Barca. One things for sure, Serie A is not a good league anymore,AC Milan and Inter both horrendous in the champions league this year.

I actually think this could be Arsenals year. it all depends on where Barca fall in the draw. Although with Messi out thats a big hole for them.

So the quarter-final draw is as follows;

Roma Vs Man Utd
Schalke 04 Vs Barcelona
Arsenal Vs Liverpool
Fenerbahce Vs Chelsea

I'm picking Man Utd, Barca, Liverpool and Chelsea for the semi-finals.

Roma will be pooing their pants after their drubbing last year and Utd will take full advantage.

Barca are a class act and Schalke shouldn't cause too many problems for them.

Arsenal are stumbling at the moment, and Liverpool always perform in Europe, however, Arsenal were amazing in the last round, so this could be close.

Chelsea have enough talent to brush aside Fenerbahce fairly easily.

Good win for United last night ^_^, 2-0 and Ronaldo is beginning to produce the goods on big occasions! I still think we will go out at the semis to Barca though...

Not on last nights form you won't. Also, I still think Shalcke still have a chance it's only 1-0.

Man Utd haven't played this well since before my time. Barca are struggling in La Liga. Barca don't have the luxury of easing up domestically and their injury list is shocking. Providing United dont choke like last year, Barca dont stand a chance.

And that header was out of this world! If he doesn't win player of the year it will be an abomination!

And I dislike him and United!

Tough group for my team united.Celtic are almost invincable at home and Nakamura has amazing free kicks, while Villereal and Rossi might come back to haunt us. Group H looks like a nightmare with the current UEFA cup winners, one of Italys best clubs in Juventus and Real Madrid..Arsenal have a tough draw to but it sucks that liverpool after stuggling to even get into this stage has perhaps the best draw of all british clubs.

What?! Totty, PSV, Marseille and Athletico is no easy draw. PSV are always a threat, if Marseille turn up then home and away draws aren't bad results. As for Athletico, no Torres but the do have Sergio Aguero upfront who is valued around £25-30mil. Not bad at all...

Chelsea get the easy ride in my book. Even if they slip up at Roma, Bordeux and CFR Cluj (Who?!?) are hardly a threat. Arsenal have some nasty trips to make there, especially in Nov/Dec. United need to really prove they're metal if there to walk through their group, Celtic love being the underdogs and will revel in trying to mess up what should be United and Villarreals exclusive party. But, I'd genuinely be suprised if United don't walk away with maximum points from their group. On their day they should beat all 3 in the group fairly easily.

I guess i was a bit harsh on Liverpools competition ^-^,but PSV and Marseille havent been all that good over the years from what iv seen,Athletico might be the most difficult in the group espicially with El Kun Aguero who is a class act.Chelsea do seem to get a lot of luck in the draws everyear (and how 3 of their players won best player awards when they lost the domestic league and european cup ill never know),can see them breezing through.Arsenal have a tough task though.Very very hard.Im not looking forward to playing Celtic away and Villiareal...tough games but if we are as good as we think we are,we should get through this group no problems.

In fairness, regarding the awards, I believe they were based solely on Champions League performances as opposed to domestic. Even so they are dubious. Role on FIFA World Player Of The Year Awards next month...

My World team of the year would be as follows...

1. Iker Casillas

2. Sergio Garcia
3. Patrice Evra
5. Nemanja Vidic
6. Carlos Puyol

4. Marcos Senna
7. Ronaldo
8. Allesandro Pirlo
11. David Silva

9. Fernando Torres
10. Leo Messi
