Im going to be seeing this today so looking forward to it.Hopefully Heath is as good as everyone says, rather then overhyping him just because of his unfortunate passing.
Just saw the Dark Knight and its fantastic,Christian Bale brilliant as Batman,Caine and Freeman doing a great job in their roles and for Heath Ledger as the Joker...he was perfect for the role and i can see why he is deserving of an Oscar nomination.Im quite surprised about the rating of the film as it does show quite heavy violence in parts and the Joker is a hugely menacing individual, would have thought a 15 would be more apropriate.
I guess this is as good a place as any to post This. From Filmstalker:
Joss Whedon has confirmed that he pitched an idea for a Batman film, in the early days of Batman Begins. He's been talking about the rough idea behind his version, and why he thinks the studio didn't go for it.
I really like Christopher Nolan's films. But I always like hearing about what films could have been, and what actor nearly got what parts. Makes you wonder how different the films could have been.
Joss Whedon was talking to MTV through Cinematical about the pitch he made to Warner Bros. He told them the idea behind his version.
'Well, I actually did pitch a Batman film when [Warner Bros. began developing "Batman Begins"], and it wasnt what they did but the vibe was very similar. Mine was a bit less epic. It was more about the progression of him and it was more in Gotham City. He didnt go to Tibet and meet cool people, but it was very similar in vibe [to Nolan's "Batman Begins"].'
Sounds pretty good. Interestingly though his pitch didn't include any of the villains usually associated with Batman.
'In my version, there was actually a new [villain], it wasnt one of the classics which is probably why they didnt use it! It was more of a Hannibal Lector type he was somebody already in Arkham Asylum that Bruce went and sort of studied with. It was a whole thing I get very emotional about it, I still love the story. Maybe Ill get to do it as a comic one day.'
He's still a big fan of Christopher Nolan's films though. But no so much The Incredible Hulk.
'I just love the respect [Nolan has] for the character and the world. I thought Christopher Nolans done an amazing job of bringing out the comic book, and I see a lot of movies [coughs HULK] sorry, I had a Hulk stuck in my throat that dont really have the aesthetic or the pathos or really get why the comic book works.'
Nolan's films are easily my favourite, although it has been a while since I last saw the first two by Tim Burton. Not being an avid reader of the comic books, I actually quite like the idea of a new villain. If Nolan does another film, maybe would that solve the problem of bringing a character like Robin into his more realistic films?
Christian Bale is off the hook, from I Watch Stuff:
Christian Bale is off the hook. London police have been instructed to drop charges that Batman assaulted his mother due to lack of evidence. That loud wheezing sound you just heard was the excited whimper of a million geeks the world over. The AP reports:
The country's Crown Prosecution Service said in a statement that there was insufficient evidence to afford a "realistic prospect of conviction" and ordered the police not to take any further action in the case. Christian Bale had the following to say: "I just want to thank all my fans for their unwavering support in this private matter. I'm happy to be vindicated of these, obviously, false allegations. I'm going to celebrating by kicking my own mother down a flight of stairs. Ha! I'm kidding, folks. I'll pay someone to do it."
Saw it at the cinema - This film was brilliant. The only thing that could've been better was the audience. Bloody kids nearly got a taste of angry mob justice! My favourite batman film I think. Begins was great but I enjoyed this one even more. 5 Stars.

Spiderman 4 will be quite some time away sadly ^_^,I liked this movie far more then the first,Heath Ledger was superb as the Joker and well deserving of an Oscar nominee, not just because of his tragic passing.
After taking over the box office this summer, The Dark Knight hype now surrounds the DVD release. We may have found out some of the treats in store for the Blu-ray release.
Unsurprisingly it's a two dvd release, and it looks packed full. All the details are inside.I wonder if we will see multiple versions released over time.
The Dark Knight DVD release will be one of the most anticipated for a while. And Blu-ray.com through /Film has what is rumoured to be the contents of the Blu-ray release. All rumour at this stage but the content goes like this.
The first disc may include, in addition to the film itself:
Gotham Discovered: The Creation of a Scene extra where Director Christopher Nolan and his collaborators unveil details on the planning of the movie, including stunt double work, how the filming in IMAX was done and information about the new Bat-suit, Bat-pod, etc
And the second disc may include:
...the following documentaries, Batman Technology: Gadgets and Tools (in HD), Batman Unmasked: The Psychology of the Dark Knight and The World of Batman Seen Through Real Life Psychotherapy (in HD), 6 clips from the Gotham Cable Premier's newscast: Tonight in Gotham, plus art galleries on the Joker's letters, conceptual art, posters, production stills, trailers, and TV spots.
And it will all be presented in Dolby TrueHD 5.1. Again nothing confirmed at this stage, but that sounds great. No commentaries though. What do you think, would that do The Dark Knight justice?
The only information I could find is that it will be 2 discs and will be released on December 8th. No extras or other details have been listed thus far.
