Thanks guys, sorry to write about that stuff ^-^ but lets enjoy life more and espicially,staring at the gorgeous asian girls we love truly! Indeed i wish you and Glowlad the best with everything to,life can be a pain most of the time but as long as we try,things will always get better.I think.
Back to the world of Joshi,i like Apple Miyuki but not really that big a fan of her work,she can wrestle ok but shes popular for her obvious gorgeous features. And that Joke by you glowlad was funny but a bit awful im afraid ^-^.Nice try though!

Im sulking because Mariko Yoshida is in Paris as we speak, and people are saying how theve met her etc...Im avoiding info on the Paris thing from now on...its frustratingbto have my heroinevso close at hand, butnot be able to go. It would have cost too much, and I speak zero French, still Im gutted. On my last trip to Tokyo my one regret was Mariko's last minute injury and thus missing seeing her live. I just hope I can see her if I make it to Japan in the next few months.

Lawsons is just a general convinence store but you can buy tickets for shows and for certain places at Lawsons which are close to where the shows are being held.Me and my friend will book a ticket the very first day im in japan because ill be arriving at 9am in the morning on 28th July (i always make sure to book an early morning arrival so i have an extra day to spend ^-^!).She lives in Chiba so its a pretty good place to be.

I have a couple of sets on wrestlers, I have a Sakura one, a Manami Toyota one and Bull Nakano set.My obvious faverate is the Sakura one i have which has a wonderful long interview with her talking about her career and such while showing her funniest moments and best matches,she is absoloutely lovely.I wanted to copy this for shonshu and others but i havent been able to which is a shame as id love to share this with many Joshi fans here,its almost impossible to get a hold of now as i bought it from a japanese online store which i think is now defunct.The Mariko one above sounds great, but i have so many i dont need to see that, i have plenty of Mariko matches to enjoy but it seems a nice set.

I watched a few shows yesterday,one from Neo 2004 which featured baby M and a team of young 8 year old girls against a trio of fearsome joshi girls! Of course Baby ms girls won the match! Then there was a crazy 32 girl battle royal which featured 2 men,girls dressed as school girls,giant pandas,walking ghosts and triple Kyoko Inoues ect ect ^^ So its pretty fun! Sadly Yuki got pinned halfway through so it missed her and Tannys delightful precense.

By the way Kyoko Inoue is pregnant now in japan so lets wish her luck ^_^.

No, It's a torrent download site so you need a few things:

1) Broadband internet connection (the fast the better)

2) A Bit Torrent client

3) Plenty of Hard Disk space

4) Plenty of blank DVD+R or DVD+RW discs

5) Membership to the torrent site.

I can help with 2 and 5 but not the rest.

Oh, and Totoro thanks forvthe info on Lawsons...so its the kind of store youd expect to see plentybof somewhere like Tokyo? I did see plenty of conveinice stores but not Lawsons I dont think. My regular haunt in Japan was Family Mart, I love these stores, open pretty much 24/7, selling everthing you want after a hard days sightseeing...ie. Japanese beer and Famipote! Famipote were just like English chips, nice and chunky, and I used to smuggle them up to my hotel room, then sit watching bizarre Japanese Tv, swigging beer, scoffing famipote, and glancing out of the window at the beautiful neon of Akihabara in this distance.

Tokyo by night is such a thrill, all those lights, people.

Indeed tokyo is beautiful and has the best people iv ever met around it! Lawsons is quite a famous convience store so im a little surprised you didnt come across one when you were there,often you can tickets for stuff from them so its a pretty useful store to have.I was the same as you ^^ though i dont drink beer,i would usually sneak 3 or 4 cartoons of strawberry milk to my room at my friends and some of those lovely Japanese cookies,i cant remember the name of them now though! I bought a few Joshi mags there to read to,good thing is my friend helped me understand them,in the Ladies Gong magazine,there was a top 100 moments of Joshi in it so it was good enjoyment to read,what surprises me is how many josh girls begin at such a young age,some of the wrestlers are even around 10 or 11! So its amazing how young some of them really are!

I watched some more Joshi last night, a LLPW show, and featured a brutal warfest between
Shinobu Kandoi and Eagle Sawaii,needless to say their was a fare bit of bloodshed here.LLPW has toned down the last few years but can have the brutal matches they you dont see in other joshi promotions.

I forgot about FMW on Saturday night and when I remembered it was on, it was half way through a gory Barbed Wire Death match between Megumi Kudo vs Shark Tsuchiya.

Thankfully it's repeated Wednesday morning at 2.00am.

I cant stand hardcore womens matches myself though it was a good match,i tend to avoid those on the shows i have.I may have said ages ago but it just doesnt seem very..nice..to watch 2 women mangle each other in such ways, so those style of womens matches are not my kind really.

In case you guys missed it, Beth Phoenix has been recalled to the RAW roster as of last night.

They remembered that she has heat with Mickie James although left it unsaid that last time Beth was the face and Mickie was the heel. Still, it bolsters the Women's division and gives us a few new match-ups to look forward to.

Hopefully it might add a spark to to the womens division...with all the resources at their disposal the WWE could have a womens division that was truly world class, could recruitbtalent from across the globe, and specifically from the land of the rising sun, but like the Cruiserweight division, they often seem to treat the division as an afterthought.

Glowlad, its best the WWE keeps well away from hiring Japanese talent,they would have sterotypical gimmick,be jobbed out to look weak quite often,have all their moves stripped down to a couple of kicks and slaps and no doubt be told to get bigger brests and surgery on them,even though every single one of the jap girls are fare more beautiful and talented then any of the garbage the WWE has.Id love Victoria to be set free and compete in japan,would be a lot of fun to
see her kick butt there! Couldnt care less about the WWE these days really,with Chris Benoit gone..i dont know if i can really enjoy the product anymore.

There is a lot in what you say Totoro, it would certainly take an absolute transformation of thinking for the WWE to hire Japanese women AND portray them in a non-stereotypical fashion.

Its the dilemma...its not impossible the WWE will go out and hire prime Japanese talent...it has before, but it then misuses them at best, or runs through the tradition stereotypes at worst.

I would just love the Japanese women to get over with the mainstream fans, to be the global superstars they deserve to be. When I saw the Jumping Bomb angels footage on Youtube, I realised for a time, the WWE could have gone that way, the corwd seemed really up for it. Sadly, for whatever reason that wasnt to be.

What I hope is that the WWE once and for all ditches the idea that size = talent, there are too many no talent big men in the WWE taking up precious airtime.

The only way that is going to happen is if the entire McMahon family and HHH are wiped out in one go and the share holders decided to elect their succesors in running company to run a WRESTLING company and NOT an "entertainment" company who have deluded themselves into believing they don't book wrestling show they make "mini movies".

Indeed Mib.Joshi girls rarely find any success away from Japan so its best for them to keep in their home land where they can do what they love best.Its intresting to read interviews with some
of the stars like Nagashima and Meiko Satomura who both claimed they wouldnt ever work for a company like WWE because they want to be seen as wrestlers and not as bimbos,i have to find the link to a couple of those because i read them some time back but there was one with Sakura who also had the same feeling even though she enjoyed the WWE product at the time.Takako Inoue was asked to join the company in 2004 thanks to one of the Bomb angels who someone from the WWE asked to and Takako (who has a record of saucy stuff in japan) said no to that as well.

But at least financially, it would be nice to see the Joshi Girls get a reward forvall their hard work. For example, the show I saw at Shin-Kiba 1st ring, Jd Star, lightweight in action but a fun day. But the venue was tiny, the size of an average school hall, even then there were plenty of empty seats. Its hard to imagine they made much money, which is probably why, post show the wrestlers man the merchandise stalls, selling autograped stuff, DVD's etc...

My point is, these vastly talented, beautiful women, with a dedication and talent which put the average WWE mid-carder to shame, shouldnt have to struggle this way.

The WWE, at least in its current mood isnt the answer.

Ah well, Ill have to win the lottery and set up my own promotion.

Id love to build my own Joshi promotion, and i would get involved as the main heel character,wrestling with the girls and usually losing to them...man id love to get in the ring with Yuki Miyazaki..Im soooo in love with her! She is utterly gorgeous in person, even though shes only 5 ft 1! I hope she remembers me...man only 2 and a bit weeks..Cant wait to get back!

Been watching some womens Lucha recently, a fantastic Reina de Reina tourement from 2004 which is a 12 (i think) woman elimanation match up which consists of 6 heels and 6 faces,the last 6 who survive fight at another event with the final 2 battling for the crown in the final.Quite a fun little match, Lady Rabbit is absoloutley adoreable,Lady Apache is a legend,Martha Villabos a beast and quite a few other cuties involved,Dark Angel being i think one of them.Also saw a tag match featuring Azumi Hyoga in a tag match, quite weird to see japanese compete in Mexico,since the style is totally different to what they do in japan.

I'm not a fan of Lucha Libre so I didn't know that they had a Women's division.

On FMW last night they aired Megumi Kudo's retirement match from 1997 against Shark Tsuchiya in a No Rope Double Exploding Barbed Wire Yokohama Death Match. In this match, two sides of the ring have exploding barbed wire and the other two have no ropes but at ringside are two boards covered with barbed wire and explosives.

Kudo gets bloodied, thrown into the barbed wire four times, hakced with a sickle and almost set alight when Shark spews fire at her.

Yep i saw that to Mib.Good match but..really not my kind at all! But Womens Lucha is quite good fun Mib,Lady Apache is a true legend who can wrestle all kinds of styles,very ellegant and beautiful to so im sure if you could find on you tube or somewhere, i would recommend a match from her collection.Im not a big fan of Lucha Libre myself but its quite fun though its annoying that how Azumi Hyoga was incredible weak,in japan she would usually kick ass and wouldnt go down for the pinfall after a simple superplex but she did in this match and it was a really woeful superplex to,she had some good offense in the match but obviously was quite toned down from what she does in her homeland.I have a show with Oz Academy invading mexico,strange thing is Nagashima was supposed to be heeling it up yet she came down to the ring slapping hands with the fans with a huge smile on her cute little face while the others were thrusting their fists,screaming and hollowing and the usual heel type actions! Nagashima doesnt seem to make a good heel at all it seems!

Would it be fair to say that heel v face roles are generally less defined in Joshi? With certain obvious exceptions Id struggle to say who was a heel or face, though this may be because I speak only scraps of Nihongo.

I think in some cases its quite easy to tell a face or heel in some scenarios though generally in joshi,there isnt really any match that has a face or heel scenario in it,if that makes sense.The girls who have a unique look and style are the ones you can probably tell are faces or heels,for example,Yoshiko Tamura,Meiko Satumura,Yuki Miyazaki,tanny mouse,Kyoko Kimura and Kyoko Inoue are obviously faces with their own ways,Yoshiko and Meiko are the strong,brave courageous faces,Yuki and Tanny are the comedy duo that everyone loves,Kimura the wild but fun girl and Kyoko Inoue the legend that has always been popular with the fans.The Heels usually are the bigger girls or the girls with the dark,punk or menacing appearence,such as Amazing Kong,Dump,Aja Kong,Toshiee Ueematsu,Akira Hokuto ect ect.Its obvious who the fans will cheer for when say Amazing kong takes on Yoshiko Tamura or Aja against Meiko.I hope this makes a little bit of sense!

I think to because of the lack of interaction with the crowd in most joshi shows (such as shaking hands with the fans,which doesnt happen usually but sometimes they do that,posing and gesturing in the ring,things like that) makes it look more like a serious show,rather then the theatrics of a good girl/bad girl think.I had my hand shaken on the way to the ring by a few girls last year mind,Yuki,Meiko,tanny,Kyko Inoue...i havent washed my hand ever since hehe! But if you try to hold your hand out to Amazing kong,shell only try to kill you...which i saw in a joshi dvd i have, a poor guy tried to and she threatened to punch him, but being she is american, she obviously knows how to work the crowd more then the Japanese girls.

It's not just in Joshi but in Puro in general. But some wrestlers or stables do define themselves as heels like Voodoo Murders in All Japan while others are heels yet still get cheered because they have popular members like in the soon-to-disband CTU in New Japan because they are headed by Jushin Liger. However fellow CTU members Minoru, Gedo & Jado play straight out heels despite Liger's popualrity.

Sakura Hirota seemed to be a heel when teamed with police?

I know Ive said it before, but I do wish she got the credit she deserved in hardcore Joshi circles.

Mariko Yoshida..shes probably a tweener,willing to beat anyone up,no matter who it is! Cherry is no doubt a very cute face,but the younger girls dont have a distinctive personality about them so none of them really fall into a heel or face camp really.As for the lovely Sakura,iv always thought she was a really adoreable,funny face,even with police,she was always making the crowd laugh and happy so i wouldnt say she was a heel ever.Its a shame that noone really gives her much credit in joshi,she was a very capable wrestler who gave lots of enjoyment to people.I really miss her thats for sure! While i love Yuki and Tanny,they just dont have that same fun and warmth she had.

At the end of the day, the Japanese just enjoy the whole spirit of competition which is why they pop for big moves and spot regardless of who they are done by. You get wrestlers like Minoru Suzuki who plays the heel no matter what yet some of his moves still get a good reaction.

I just ordered a few more joshi dvds today so hopefully ill get them before im off to Japan.The ones i have feature intresting matches like Kyoko Kimura vs Mariko Yoshida 2 out of 3 falls and Yoshiko Tamura vs Azumi Hyoga (Pacific title match up) so i cant wait to see these,i left japan just about the time Yoshiko and Azumi were to face each other so i wanted to watch this match big time.

i love Ran Yu Yu so i have to see those matches,i think i bought some dvds of Oz Academy and these shows recently,i only scan through the match lists and dates so i dont really know but the cards look pretty fun on those Mib.Ran Yu Yu is not only great but very beautiful ^^! Big fan of hers!
