Im kept amazingly busy right now, bought the new monkey magik song here and a few japanese films and such.Goin to another joshi show tomorrow at the neo dojo in yokohama, hoping to see the girls again, cant afford to go to a noah as i said before though sadly.Going to tokyo disney land again soon but other wise, im quite ok really.Went to chiba tody, eat with my cute friend hitomi and took the purikura again. Will meet my friends Yuka and Megumi later this week haha., Cant waiiit!
Today im going to see some hanabi and go to karaoke,im an awful singer so ill listen to my cute friends probably hehe.Another cool japanese comedy show yester featuring a lot of cute girls, and there was a 24 hour tv show which i believe may have been a charity event which was fun and showcased many bands and such.
Thought id add another posting as im here, well not long to go before im back but im already setting plans for next years trip to japan, but im also hoping to go to korea in febuary as well and china for the ollympics so im saving and being wiser with money at the moment haha. Well i took tons of videos and things in Akihabara yesterday, met a friend who is into cosplay and stuff and we went to one of those slave girl cafes, i felt bad having to order them around, but they are soooooooo cute! I took a pic with a couple and hugged one of them haha.Man being here makes me feel a whole better and happier guy. Booked a trip to another neo show to see my girl Yuki again!
Also boguht a ton of Totoro merchandise, some death note bits, some small anime toys, final fantasy and dragonquest figuerines and next wek ill be off to tokyo disney sea and land. Today ill head to chiba, looking for some anime and stuff, I boguth a couple and i recently bought japanese film YO YO Girl i think its called, shes some kind of heroine who kicks ass with a yo yo so looking foward to it. Still hot as hell though. Also bought a tin set of Cashern for only a fiver cant go wrong. No new films really that intresting out at the moment but im going to miss final fantasy crisis core on the psp by 3 days as i leave before it comes out damn..
I wish i could help you Dark M but unfortunatly, with just 2 weeks left and down to my last 40 pounds i think its pretty impossible to do anymore shopping for dvds.To be honest, i actually havent seen the box set of Death Note in many stores, just single dvd sets of it here from what i saw though im sure it would be available in some hmvs here though i dont live close to any hmv store, sorry about that :(.
Im hoping to go to Japan in january for 2 weeks or so...Kyoto and Tokyo. Hopefully I would finally get to see Mariko Yoshida in action, and perhaps meet a couple of my Japanese email pals. Hope it goes as well as Totoro's epic travels!
Good for you Glowlad, im sure youll have fun. Im going back In april myself, will post some pics of my last trip on here once i get my pc working better. Im going to stay in Osaka next time, and off to Hokkaido in may, to see the cherry blossoms which i cant wait. Will take in several Joshi shows.Im also hoping to go to the Bejing olympics and Seoul in late December ;).Lots of plans!
My current Jealousy rating now...95%. Japan, China and Korea...just amazing!
Its also depressing that from the pics of your time in Japan you are a good looking lad with loads of Japanese babes fighting over you. Jealousy rating...100%!
hehe yeah, just plans right now Glowlad ^^, iv been saving a lot in many ways so i can afford to travel because my parents know how much i love Japan and Asia really. Most of my friends live in those places so its where i want to be so i often go.As for the good looking lad part...Arigatou GL ^^ im sure your a nice chap yourself! But when i travel, im always shy around people espicilly girls so i tend to just hang around less populated places and with friends.Strangely a woman and child came up to me and asked if i was married, she was stunning but must have been at least 40! Great place....^_^.As for China well iv planned to see the olympics a long time, Ditto Korea but that will be a smaller trip.
Here are some pics, excuse the poor quality of some of them and maybe i posted some before, if so forgive me ^^ but ill explain a little about some of these as i go, sadly a lot of my Disny, Joshi and Yokohama pics are still stuck on my other memory card and my bloody pc isnt letting them on for some reason. Anyway here is a few ^^
Me and Yoshi watching afternoon parade in Tokyo Disney ^^.
Me at the Yokohama Mariners stadium, home of world cup 2002 and Cafus shirt
Cool pics! Did you have your pic taken with any of your Joshi faves? I would rather just take their pic...having my mug in the pic would ruin it for me! Do you plan on learning any Korean or Mandarin for your trip? I wouldnt have managed in Tokyo without my beginners Japanese...its nice to have a few words if you are lost, or in a shop or on public transport. I hope to see China one day, and would probably try to learn a few words before I went.
Thanks for the feedback guys, more to come when i can work my pc and such. But yep im not a comfident guy about my appearence so i tend to hide myself with hats and dark clothes...My friend wanted me to so i took it off but its a rare shot Mib! I dont watch scrubs so i have no idea who the Janitor is, hopefully its a compliment though ;)! I did have a couple of pics with some joshi girls, Yuki and Tanny (Yuki is gorgeous and she was very sweet..i love her....)Tanny of course was very nice, i met Cherry to, and some other Jd stars,i also got to take with Yoshiko Tamura, she is really Cool, yet tiny in person, but very nice. Really it helps to have a friend with me or i couldnt have said a word, they mentioned about my totoro Tatoo, Kawaaaiii ne, i mainly got this tatoo to impress japanese hehe ^^. I can actually speak a little Chinese and Korean such as "Nihao" "Xie Xie" obviously hello and thank you in chinese and Korean "anyoung" "anyoung Hasiyo" hello and goodbye, "hanul" "ddang" land and river or something like that, "Nanon Rob Immida" my name is.."Joa" Super ect ect.. So iv learn lots and lots hehe for my travels! But im not fluent in any.. Will post more pics tomorrow ^^ but glad they are liked, arigatou!
It would be amazing to be fluent in a language, outside of English...I wont ever manage it though. Id love to be able to read Japanese site instead of getting the odd word. I limp along in spoken Japanese, I have all kinds of books and cd's but never make the breakthrough beyond the basic level.
Yikes..I hope i dont look that old ^^ and have a funny shaped nose like him! Same with me GlowLad, i doubt ill ever achieve anything better then basic level Japanese, Korean ect ect but as long as we know the basics like hello, thank you and things, it should be alright. We are just lucky enough a lot of Japanese and people know a bit of english to :).Will post some more pics in the next day when im not so tired.
Some more pics! Again i want share all i can so maybe some iv shown before but new ones to
Purikuras with my friends Sako and Kaori, i have over 50 purikuras with my friends, but only a couple machines allow photos on internet so i cant show my others sadly.
me and Chika again ^^
I remember this being a traditional old Japanese hospital..i think
Purikura machins are found in any game center Glowlad! Thing is you have to be with a girl or female to enter them or you wont be allowed as it would be a breeding ground for pervs or otaku as the only people who really take the purikuras are girls from school or college! So i always make sure to have my cute friends with me! I have a collection of over 60 or so of them but only the 2 machines would let me put some pics online so i have way more then just those 2 with more kawaii girls!
I met most of them online Glowlad, and some introductions by my freinds to their friends. I took it apon myself to place my name on some sites and things and hopefully to make friends and thankfully many wrote me back! Of course i have a few male friends along with all my cute girls ^-^.
Thats Mio and Io shirai and the other is Yuki Miyazaki (my baby).Indeed its hard to remember a lot of the names of Joshi and most Japanese actress and actors for me but the ones we like most are pretty easy to remember :). Dont you think Japanese girls have the cutest names in the world? if i have a baby girl, ill certianly be calling her Megumi or Yoshie ^-^.
Thanks for the info, of course I recognised your baby Yuki Miyazaki!
You are right about the names, they have an inherent cuteness, kawaiiness. Which is apporpriate as so do the ladies to whom the names belong!
Im trying to put together my trip...for the Tokyo bit, I hopecto stay in Shinjuku, it would be great to have all that colour and light close by. I always say, the neon is exhilarating, heavenly, such a rush to emerge for the subway into this neon wonderland.
Sounds great Glowlad.I have to find myself a cheap hotel or guest house for the first month of my return as all my friends and things are busy with college, i need to get a good place but i dont know yet, did you stay at a cheap hotel or good place before Glowlad? I have no idea about these things or going about finding them...:(.Shinjuku is a fabulous place i agree! ah...I miss it...
Well, really cheap places are hostels ryokans etc. But I use business hotels, which are usually in the 35-40 pounds a night area. I stayed in one, it was only 1 and half stars. yet was clean, modern and pleasant, as good as a three star hotel here, with flat screen tv, funkly little bathoom with automated toilet!
I book via expedia uk...it takes away a lot of hassle, you just print out your resevation, and show it when you arrive at your hotel.
Arigatou Guizamasu Glowlad Kun ^-^ hehe, ah theres noway i can afford a buisness hotel like that, though it must be amazing to stay in.I will probably use a guesthouse, homestay or hostel thing as you mentioned about.I have been fortunate with very good friends and gf who helped me much but my next trip will need to be a more of my own doing..so i need to think :). I used expedia first time around but then i used BA for my trips.Actually i dont know much because my parents do all that! But id be happy to sleep out in a park if it means i cant stay in japan again!
Arigatou Glowlad :). Im sure ill think of something hehe. I might even try camping ;). But no, i have seen a couple of good guest houses and things online so i should be alright. But being as im a little younger then you (gomen ne Gl!) im a little nervous to be staying alone in a hostel or hotel something like that.
Im 34....which makes me just right for Mariko Yoshida, and not too old for Aki Hoshino...but I know what you mean!
Actually I felt the same way...whenever Id had a big holiday before, Id been with my family or friends and they'd dealt with the stressful side of things...checking-in etc...so I was worried how Id cope in Japan, even as a then 33 year old, old codger! My crappy Japanese helped, and really expedia had everything arranged, I just checked in and that was it.
34 is young dont worry GL ^^ good for you, Expedia seems alright to use when i used it before.Just now iv been searching a whole load of sites to find a nice guest house and homestay, iv found a couple and enquired about them so wish me Gambatte with that ^-^.Im thinking of either Hokkaido or Osaka for my first month....Not sure yet :).
I find it hard walking up into the high street on my own let alone going abroad. Okay slight exaggeration but as long as I know where I'm going then it's not to bad because I know my way back. I'm terrible at remembering routes and directions so just the thought of me going to a foreign country alone frightens the hell out of me. Which is why I'll never amount to anything in my life.
Dont be harsh on yourself MIB,believe me im exactely the same as you here in england..But when im there im a whole new person,i think id never of gone there had it not been for my gf who paid for my first trip, travelled and helped me back..From then on i tried my best to go myself there and i succeeded.I bet youll have the same courage to do what iv done and travel yourself one day! You have a lot of talent in you Mib so be positive, you can do anything :),far better then anything i am capable of to.
I think Japan would be a life changing thing for you MiB, should you get the chance, grab it with both hands. Honestly when I was on my way to the National Express bus stop to begin my long long trek to Japan last year...I thought overwhelmingly, its not worth the stress, the tiredness, the worry the anxiety...Id never been beyond Brighton by myself!
The travelling to Japan is awful. But once you arrive, is like another world, just this extraordinary, thrilling experience. Japan seems to have such colours that youve never seen before, amazing. Tokyo is daunting the first day, but soon youd know the metro so well...for me, the London underground and London in general was far more confusing. I had the time of my life.
The only problem was having to leave. It was a terrible downer to have to come back.
It was a life changing thing for me, and for Totoro, I think it can be the same for you MiB.
Well said Glowlad :).If we can do it, you sure as heck can Mib, you have all the talent to do well in many things, i wish i could have your gift for writing and such :).Agree with you about leaving to, its heartbreaking to leave, it just seems time flies so fast there yet here...
[Click here to start wri Well, the main elements of my trip are now booked...17 nights, from the middle of January, mainly in Kyoto, but with a few nights in Tokyo to enjoy the bright light, and hopefully a Joshi show. At the moment the horror of all the travelling I have to do is over shadowing my hopes for the trip. Heathrow alone is such an awful experience. Plus Ill be travelling a lot during the holiday...its daunting.
Weirdly enough I already dread the part where I have to come back to Britain!
I need to focus on the good stuff...the chance to meet a penpal or two, see some Joshi, and experience that unique, thrilling Japan feeling.
nice job Glow lad, good luck with it. Im quite the regular at heathrow myself now so i dont really worry about it anymore. However there is a new law in japan now which i read about that when we land after immergration we will be finger printed and have our photos taken! I hope its not true...kowai..Anyway my trip is 2 days in tokyo and disney and and then up to Osaka and to my guest house for one month. after ill stay with my gf and meet several of my penfrienda and friends, catch 4 joshi shows if i can and try to go to karaoke with them..time sure flies by though..
This is the worst part..the travelling to the destination...urgh..when your as shy and not comfident around other people as i am,its a really scary thing..Leaving here at 5am since its a 3 hour drive to heathrow.Im really quite lucky because i originally wanted to go in the new terminal 5 when i originally booked the trip but i always preferred virgin so i persuaded my dad to take that one instead...thank god! Will be gone for a week but no doubt ill pop up here with my stories ;).
huzza! my first posting from Tsuruhashi! man its hot..The past 2 days iv been snuggling up with my girlfriend in a hotel and then here to this guesthouse..Its pretty cool.Anyhows going to catch a joshi neo show in the next few weeks, a J league match, going to hang out with my kawaii friends and girl friend (one being a complete rock chick so i have to get some punq clothes just to suit her fashion hah) and tomorrow Universal Stuidos Japan! Cant wait baby..Have some pics but im a real tubby git now and bad hair...
Have been up to far to much, doubt ill post all of it here, I wish i had a better digital cam though as once again using the same one, i cant upload tons of stuff :(. Saw a joshi show in Yokohama,a NEO with a good card in Tamura/Misae vs Matuso/Ueematsu, Miyazaki who i shook hands with again ^_^ vs Kyoko Kimura, 2 of my faves ect ect, great experiance seing them live but these girls wrestle almost 2 times a week, they must be shattered..From then went to Kyoto and Nara to see the many temples and shrines, eating Tempura, wearing the traditinal Japanese warrior uniform in doll musem ect ect.Hung out with a few friends, talked all day, ect ect, nice fun time..But itll come soon that ill have to leave here :(. Well ill be off to korea next time ;).
Not keeping to busy but doing pretty well.More video and picture taking around Tsuruhashi, cant believe i have only 4 weeks left then im back in dull old england.Saw Tsuruhashi,Kyoto,Nara, tokyo,Osaka,Ikebukuru and Sakura, 2 joshi shows and my good friend Yuki Miyazaki (she remembered me after i showed my totoro tatoo! I love her),saw a couple of movies at the really expensive cinemas, took in a wild night with my rock chick friend and my girlfriend and me spending a lot of loving nights and days together! Great stuff so far, tried some amazing dishes, Okonomiyaki, Takayaki...all kinds of stuff..Man i love it here.Met my 34 year old friend to who is a real stunner, shes helping me out with my japanese so hehe ;) quite cool!
Where in Kyoto did you go? Initially I wasnt so impressed with Kyoto, but bit by bit I fell in love with it. I like Kiomizu Dera, Yasaka Jinja and Arashiyama the best.
