She probably made the song a while ago and went with the anime video because of her current situation and they couldn't make one with her in it. Just a guess.
Yes I thought it looked very Ghost in the Shell inspired too.
She worked on the Blackout album for a very long time, almost entirely before the proverbial faeces hit the proverbial rotating oscillating cooling device. The video was (probably) a wise move by her studio to avoid another terrible performance from The Spearonator.
Well we haven't had an update from the Britster for a while so now we have two!!
Britney Spears' ex-manager Sam Lutfi has been ordered to stay away from the singer for a further three months, lawyers from both sides have agreed.
The restraining order, which has already been extended once, was originally put in place in February.
Ms Spears' lawyer Vivian Thoreen told a US judge extending the order was "in the best interests" of the star.
Mr Lutfi's lawyer Michael Sands said: "Sam and the family are co-operating and trying to do what's best."
He is not allowed to go within 250 yards (228 metres) of Ms Spears until the end of July.
Psychiatric evaluation
Ms Spears' mother Lynne obtained the restraining order in a Los Angeles court after claiming Mr Lutfi had been controlling her daughter's life by drugging her and taking control of her finances.
Her father, James Spears, is in charge of her affairs until 31 July.
Ms Spears, who was admitted to hospital and placed under psychiatric evaluation, has recently returned to work.
She appeared as a guest in the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother as a dermatologist office assistant named Abby.
Her latest single, Break The Ice, reached number 23 in the UK Top 40 chart.
She was involved in a minor traffic accident in Los Angeles on Saturday when she hit another car with her Mercedes.
--------------
And the other one
Pop star Britney Spears has been involved in a minor road accident on the Ventura Freeway in Los Angeles.
The 26-year-old was driving her Mercedes through slow-moving traffic when she struck a Nissan which had stopped in front of her, police said.
The Nissan bumped into another vehicle but there was no damage and nobody in any of the cars was injured.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol went to the scene but no charges will be brought, a spokesman said.
This is not the first time that Spears has been involved in a traffic accident.
Last August she escaped a hit-and-run charge after paying an undisclosed amount of money to the owner of a vehicle into which she allegedly crashed in a car park.
And in 2006 Spears admitted making a "mistake" after being photographed driving with one of her sons on her lap, rather than strapped into a baby's car seat.
The singer's father, James Spears, currently has control of her assets.
He was granted what is known as "temporary conservatorship" in February after she was admitted to a psychiatric ward.
Spears' publicist did not respond to an e-mail message sent by the Associated Press requesting a comment on the latest incident.
Seriously this girl should not be allowed in cars period.
Britney Spears is to reprise her role as a doctor's receptionist on US sitcom How I met Your Mother.
The pop star's first appearance as bubbly secretary Abby on the CBS show pulled in almost 3m extra viewers when it was shown in March.
Spears will be seen pairing up with womanising character Barney to get even with his friend, Ted.
The episode is expected to be filmed this week and will be screened on 12 May in the US.
CBS described the episode, saying: "Desperate to get a rise out of his former pal Barney pops a surprising question to Abby."
"We're all so thrilled to have Britney joining us once again," co-creator Craig Thomas added.
Spears, who said working on the show was "terrific", received mostly positive reviews for the role and gave her a rare burst of upbeat headlines amid a torrent of highly publicised personal problems in recent years.
The cameo has sparked speculation that the pop star might branch out further into acting, following another successful guest turn in March 2006 on the NBC comedy Will & Grace.
Bet your wondering why we have had no entries into the chronicles recently... Well, thats because our Brit has been on Holiday.... Hope you haven't eaten recently....
Looks like our Brit is making another comeback... This time on TV!
from TMZ.com
TMZ has learned Britney Spears took a meeting yesterday with a big time producer and may be headed to the small screen in a starring role.
Sources say Britney and her team met with Roy Bank, President of Merv Griffin Entertainment, and discussed several TV projects in which Brit would star in and possibly produce. We're told one of the projects is a music show.
Makes sense to pair Brit up with Bank -- they're both repped by the William Morris Agency, which packages tons of TV shows. It was, we're told, a "serious" meeting.
The ball is now in her court, but she's definitely interested in the whole TV thing.
Uh oh just as you thought things were settling down and she was becoming normal again...
Lynne Spears tell-all book Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World is remarkably jam-packed with action for an evangelical book about parenting. Lynne reveals Britney started knocking back booze at 13 and, with her mom's help, tricked Justin Timberlake into thinking she was a virgin when really Britney nailed a football player at 14. The best part is: Justin fell for it! Oh, man, these Disney kids are dumb. Although, that could just be the drink. NY Daily News has the details:
Alcohol!: The pop icon took a liking to booze when she was a 13-year-old Mouseketeer and began experimenting with drugs at 15.
Drugs! By age 16, Britney's wild-child behavior stunned her family when she was caught with cocaine and marijuana on a private jet, Lynn Spears claims.
SEX! She admits she allowed her then 16-year-old daughter to sleep with Timberlake, her Mickey Mouse Club co-star, and went along with the hoax that Britney was a virgin. Lynne Spears reveals Timberlake was misled and that Britney lost her virginity to a Kentwood, La., high school football player.
It's pretty obvious Britney is a screw-up from having such a bad white trash role model mother, but I wouldn't be surprised if she absolves herself of such culpability.
Singer Britney Spears has swept the board at the MTV Video Music Awards show in Los Angeles, collecting three prizes for her track Piece of Me.
The 26-year-old, whose performance at last year's ceremony was widely panned, thanked "God first and foremost for just blessing me like this".
The other winners at the show in Hollywood included the Pussycat Dolls, Linkin Park, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown.
And there were performances from Kanye West, Rihanna and Christina Aguilera.
West left the ceremony - hosted by British comic Russell Brand - empty-handed.
He fell out with MTV after last year's show when he failed to win any prizes and had vowed never to perform at the awards again.
And in 2006 he publicly complained about not winning best video at the MTV Europe awards.
Spears has suffered a year of health problems and legal difficulties which saw her lose custody of her children, while her father James has taken legal control of her affairs.
Her video for Piece of Me won the main prize - video of the year.
It beat Chris Brown's Forever, Burnin' Up by the Jonas Brothers, When I Grow Up by the Pussycat Dolls and the Ting Tings' Shut Up and Let Me Go to the coveted prize.
The same promo also earned Spears the awards for best video by a female artist and top pop video.
She had been nominated for MTV video awards 16 times before but had never won.
"Wow, thank you, I'm in shock right now," she said as she collected her third and final trophy.
"I was not expecting this. This is such an honor to have this award right now. I want to thank my fans. This is dedicated to you."
Presidential race
Brand said the night marked the "launch of a very new Britney Spears era".
"Consider this the resurrection of Britney Spears," he said. "If there was a female Christ, it's Britney."
During his innuendo-laden opening monologue, Brand discussed the upcoming US presidential election, publicly backing presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
"Some people, I think they're called racists, say America is not ready for a black president," he said.
"But I know America to be a forward-thinking country because otherwise why would you have let that retarded cowboy fella be president for eight years.
"We were very impressed. We thought it was nice of you to let him have a go, because, in England, he wouldn't be trusted with a pair of scissors."
Last year's big winners were Justin Timberlake with four awards, including top male artist, and R&B star Rihanna, who won video of the year for Umbrella.
Meh! Britney probably slept with the judges or shared her blow with them to get the votes...
And what is it with this rappers getting upset about not winning awards? That 50 Cent keeps spitting the dummy when he doesn't win and others have done the same too. With all the money they make why should they care about some tokeni piece of plastic ?
Anybody thinking about getting MiB a present I have found the perfect gift.... Britney's new single Womanizer, if you can get Tom Cruise to personally deliver it too, I think MiB would be over the moon...
Although the release is not without it's issues in only a way our Brit could manage....
Britney Spears' latest single "Womanizer" was set to debut yesterday morning, but E! News is reporting it will be another week until it hits radio stations:
According to label sources, the official premiere of "Womanizer," Spears' first single off of her upcoming album Circus, has been pushed back due to an undisclosed issue with "the mix"—i.e., not Britney's vocals, per se, but rather how all facets of the track sound together.
