This is a monster movie? I thougth it was an earthquake type of disasater affair. I saw this ina cinema the other day the sound nearly blew the speakers off the wall!!
looks good though. Although I thik they need to be careful of Godzilla type overhype.
wow...this looks solid. i originally though king kong or godzilla, but after watching the trailer, it looks like those two movies meet 9/11 or something like that. so it's due out mid-Jan right??

Just a thought but if that was the head of the Statue of Liberty that was thrown at the start of the clip, shouldn't it have been much bigger considering people can actually walk around inside it? It looked too small to me.
That aside, this looks like Blair Witch meets the crappy abortion of a US remake of Godzilla.
That looks frickin' awesome! Looks like it puts an unusual twist on your bog-standard monster movies, and with J.J. Abrams at the helm, I reckon its got to be pretty good. I await the release date eagerly...
This si now fast approaching. Anyway there has been a mass of Internet stuff which requires people to do some hunting around. For the lazy ones of us, here is some of the latest stuff featuring more footage and explinations..
Well, toinights the night. All the english press will be at the Empire Liecester Sq, for thescreenign Im sure, here's hoping that I get a decent seat not to near the front...
The Empire BTW is my favorite cinema in the world!
Cloverfield, a film about a giant lizard attacking New York, opened in North America with a January record of $41m (£21m), studio estimates showed. It beat the $35.9m (£18.4m) achieved when the first Star Wars movie was reissued in January 1997.
Romantic comedy 27 Dresses, telling of a perpetual bridesmaid, was in second place this week with $22.4m (£11.4m).
Last week's top film, The Bucket List, about two cancer patients who travel the world before they die, was third.
There was an overall surge in figures, with the top 12 films taking $135.3m (£69.4m), up 39% from the same weekend last year.

I really liked this movie. It had a good pace, and a nice twist on a monster movie. It added a sense or urgency I haven't seen in that type of film before.
Well this may still be a spoiler so don't click this link if you don't want to know what the monster looks liks but you get to see it here in its full glory more than you do in the film anyway here goes.
