According to some reports on a few people on some forums of other places who attended the television tapings, its not very good and the action takes place in a studio rather then an arena like the original did! The Legends show will feature Z list glads like Rocket and Ace, which sucks because i had read about Wolf wanting to come back.
The arena is presumably so they could house the pool which perhaps the NEC wouldn't allow.
And because I doubt SKY could afford or were able to get a huge arena for this comeback. It's probably a safe bet that the original show had much bigger backers behind it to be able secure avenue like the NEC and the budget for the stage set up.
i had a bad feeling it would...bet its not a patch on the old series which i adore...Plus none of the gladiators look fit to lace the boots of wolf,Jet ect.
Turns out that the guy who is 'O-Zone' Oblivion is actually a proffessional wrestler in the UK which would explain a few things. TNA 'star' Matt Morgan joins up with the American Gladiators for the semi final. Billed as 'Beast' he gets lowered down to the arena in a cage where he screams and shouts like a beast and apparantly takes a few of the contestants proper.
I have watched all of American Gladiators Season 1, and all they have played of 2, also seen some of UK gladiators and AU Gladiators. I think my expectations for both UK and AU gladiators may have been set a little high, after watching the US ones where basically anything goes. Not to mention the US Season 2 eliminator is Massive, then watching UK or AU (AU has an even worse Eliminator course) does make me feel that the Americans are doing it right (it is soooooooo much more entertaining than the UK or AU) Thats my views anyway. :)
They had the old Gladiators (The"Legends") vs the new lot on SKY last night. Quite fun actually. The male legends got slaughtered by the new guys but the Women legends creamed the newbies.
And American Gladiators starts on SKY 1at 5.00pm on Tuesday September 2nd (tomorrow).
