The "How in the Hell are they Not Signed?" Thread
Permalink Closed

OK, I find a bunch of great music all over the place, and I am willing to share some of it with you. A lot of these bands are unsigned or unknown, but they all kick ass! Feel free to contribute to this thread if you find an unknown band that you think we should know about. Also, try to include some sort of link to at least one song from the band (MySpace music is a great resource, even if you don't have an account).

OK, let's start out with a few great young bands.

Foxboro Hot Tubs
Genre: Garage
Label: Unsigned

If you like Green Day, then you'll definitely like this young band. Have a listen to "Stop Drop and Roll," and tell me that they aren't great.

Stone Rider
Genre: Rock
Label: Trustkill

Every once in awhile, you find a band that you just know is going to be big. That's exactly how I felt when I first heard StoneRider's "Wild Child." They combine a bit of Guns N' Roses with a bit of new age rock to create an amazingly wonderful sound.

City Sleeps
Genre: Rock/Pop
Label: Trustkill

If you like straight ahead rock, then this band is a good young group that will just keep getting better. Listen to "Prototype" and "Not an Angel."

There will obviously be more where these came from. Stay tuned and feel free to join in! There is always room for more great music.

Any acoustic music fans (ala Jack Johnson, John Mayer, etc)? If so, check this kid out:

Christoper Aaron
Genre: Acoustic
Label: Loft Records

Aaron, a self-described hippy, is actually planning a peace walk across the US starting on March 10. His music infuses passion with above average skills on the guitar to create some very listenable and enjoyable music.

If your a rocker check out Downfall. They're a cool band and just because they're my friends doesn't make me biased! They're a mixture of american metal and british rock.

He is pretty cool. I've never seen stuff like that done with a bass before.

Not too bad, a bit too much like "Disturbed" for my tastes. These boys however http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=13948365 It's a shame they split up though :(

These guys are cool, I saw them at Download whilst I was waiting for Firewind to come on. They're alright. They look a little gay and it's not my usual shit but for some reason I dig the music.

Check it out peeps!
