i know its a long shot and its fixed for David Archuleta to win but i really hope that David Cook wins.

He might just do a will young over grathe (do you want fries with that) gates and steal it.

David Cook has been for me the best singer most adventurous contestant of them all.

David Cook isn't doing anything that Chris Daughtry didn't do in series 5 and he is now the biggest selling new artist in the US.

well my mate scott is before the pannel in june and he has had the cameras following him since march

I think they will for a while because the live finals aren't until September. Don't forget we have weeks and weeks of 1st rounds and stuff.

Plus they won't go head to head with Big Brother or Euro 2008.

So David Cook was victorious. I never liked the other David; his voice annoyed me and he looked like he was constipated when he sang.

I have to agree with braxious that on the final they seemed to be pushing little David harder that Cook probably because being so young they could market him to the girlies a lot easier - which let's face it was his only really support. That's why Cook won because he appealed to men too. Musically of course.

There was a story in the papers the other day about a girl who was through to the X-Factor second round who had been petitioned by neighbours to stop her singing as it was too loud!

NEW YORK (AP) -- Scoot over, Simon Cowell. 'American Idol' is adding a fourth critic to its panel of judges.

Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi will sit alongside Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson when the eighth season of "American Idol" premieres in January, the Fox network said Monday.

'For the past seven seasons, Paula has had to endure the experience of being the only woman at the judges' table,' said Mike Darnell, president, alternative programming of Fox, in a statement. 'With Kara by her side, Paula has some backup and now there is going to be a lot more `girl power' on the show,' Darnell said.

DioGuardio's songs have been recorded by Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood and Pink, among others.

'We are turning the heat up on `Idol' this year and are thrilled to welcome Kara to the judges' table,' said creator and executive producer Simon Fuller in a statement. 'She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America's most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excitement to the show.'

Executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz said a fourth judge isn't a new idea.

'We had originally intended for `American Idol' to have four judges,' she said. 'We've seen from our international series that having a fourth judge creates a dynamic that benefits both the contestants and the viewers.'

And no, I've never heard of her either....
