Mario Kart Wii Puts Everyone Behind the Wheel as it Launches Across Europe on 11th April 2008!
Make sure you put your foot down and go go go, as the next installment in the iconic Mario Kart series; Mario Kart Wii is just around the corner and zooming towards its launch across Europe on April 11th 2008.
Mario Kart Wii comes bundled with a new and intuitive accessory - the Wii Wheel, which makes it one of the most accessible Mario Kart games to date and allows complete novices to compete with ease and comfort, ensuring no one is left in the dust. For those more familiar to Mario Kart and who are now afraid of getting smoked by their newcomer grandparents using the Wii Wheel, rest assured, Nintendo has you covered! Mario Kart Wii supports five different control options: Wii Wheel, Wii Remote turned on its side, Wii Remote and Nunchuk combination, Classic Controller and even Nintendo GameCube controller. So theres bound to be a configuration that fits everyones experience, level and style.
Combining all the much-loved features from the series, Mario Kart Wii also sees a whole host of stunning new tracks, characters, weapons and vehicles. Those however looking for world ranking domination can take on up to 11 players simultaneously worldwide using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service which will offer them the chance to race other players across the globe in a nail-biting contest of speed and skill! Prefer to keep the rivalry a little closer to home? Try the Multiplayer Mode, in which up to four people will be able to challenge each other in the comfort of their own living room, bringing the on screen excitement into a whole new dimension.
Laurent Fischer, Managing Director of Marketing & PR of Nintendo of Europe states, Mario Kart Wii is an eagerly anticipated launch for Europe and we are confident that all those who have enjoyed playing previous Mario Kart games, in particular the Nintendo DS version will be pleased and looking forward to its arrival. Mario Kart Wii encompasses the core spirit of Mario Kart: an incredibly rich and deep gameplay experience that provides never ending fun. And with the Wii Wheel, every member of the whole family will feel comfortable to join in and experience kart racing regardless of whether they are a karting champion or a complete new beginner he adds With the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service also allowing friends and family to compete around the globe, we are confident that Mario Kart fans wont be left disappointed with this installment exclusively on Wii.
Mario and all his much loved pals are planning to make a spectacular return in this definitive version of Mario Kart, providing the most action-packed, adrenaline-filled racing fun ever seen in the series. Players will have to master a host of 16 exciting new tracks in addition to 16 classic tracks from previous Mario Kart games.
For the first time ever players will have the option of racing with karts or a brand new mode of transport Bikes. Using bikes as your chosen method will offer up some interesting and different gameplay possibilities such as carrying out a wheelie, which in turn will give you a small boost that could be crucial and make that all important difference at the finishing line.
Players will also be able to hit the road as their own personalized Mii caricatures in addition to many classic and even some never-before seen characters in Mario Kart games. True to the series, Mario Kart Wii will feature adrenaline pumping racing action, a plethora of power-ups and masses of objects for players to use to slow down their rivals. Also with 10 battle arenas, players are sure to be kept busy between trips around the circuit.
In addition to all this a new Wii Channel, the Mario Kart Channel, will also be launched with Mario Kart Wii. Players will be able to monitor their ranking against others with data compiled from races completed online as well as also access and share Ghost Data to download. Why not see if your friends are playing by checking their status or even better still set up a room in which you can chat to them before a race starts? Players even have the possibility to join in on their friends races in progress as a spectator and jump into the race when the next course launches. Through this channel, users will be exposed to a host of new online features allowing them to join a community of racing fans from all over the world as well as participate in special worldwide events organised by Nintendo.
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements on brand new game features in the near future as Mario Kart Wii prepares to race on shelves across Europe on 11th April 2008 for the estimated retail price of £39.99.
Sounds like fun, hopefully itll be better then the last few mario kart games which have been pretty poor. The best one has always been the Super Ninteno version.

What do you mean, I really enjoyed the DS version of mario kart. It had tracks from all other versions, plus some new ones and could be played against others over wi-fi
Mario Kart for the wii might be interesting, depends how they implement the controls.
The one I am waiting for on the Wii is Wii Fitness which is said to be released in Europe in April before America for a change.
OK,now with our new sections and (Hopefully soon) new members, I would like to launch the idea of placing your Mario Kart Driving Licences on here so we can all hook up for some serious racing....
Please be aware that these forums are public, so by adding yours, you will be allowing everyone to see your details. Once there are enough of us, let the races/battles commence. I will be placing mine when I get home as I can't remeber it off the top of my head...
Dont have the game yet myself :(,probably wont get it as i played a demo before and didnt impress me.Also why isnt there an Xbox360 section Dark M? Its the console i play most of all of the new gen systems so it deserves its own section to!
Currently comes under other as this is linked to the site that we are in association with and the don'tcover the XBrick yet. I suppose I could add it now.
And everyone should own Mario Kart Wii for the online capabilities alone. It's fantastic!!
So many issues and so little time. First off I thought Mario Kart 64 was great and is my favourite so far. We actually have a poll going over on Wii View as to your favourite MK. I'll be buying MK Wii any day now and arranging tournaments over at Wii View ASAP
http://www.wii-view.co.uk Wii View UK is a new site primarily for Nintendo Fanatics but we welcome all gamers and game content. The sections we have here (CPC-M) at the moment are our main focal points over at Wii View. These are the systems I have (no 360 for me... yet!) We've just started, so our community is pretty small. If you love games please sign up. It's a WIP project. A lot of the nuts and bolts are there but presentation needs a serious overhaul.
Also your chances of getting free copies of MK Wii are slim to none. Nintendo are the least likely to send out lots of promotional copies. Probably because their games sell so well there's no need! Not an impossible task but I would certainly be surprised to see free copies unless Matt buys them.
Will talk more about our two site's alliance but for now I got work to do for Matt so I'll stop waffling now

Basically on your game page on the game, where it shows you what you have achieved on each level, bronze, silver, gold, platinum etc. there is anumber which isyour 'driving license' or unique ID. When you go online you enter the said friend, combatant of choice and then they enter yours and voila you are linked.... simple as. Oh and no you won't beat me. Because I rule!!!
I was more thinking about what you said about if you add yours these forums are public and anyone can see them.
But this code is just for this game right? So all they can do is add you as a firend in this game, so not really all that troubling I think? or am I missing something?
So whats your code then DM you said you'd post it, arn't you home yet?
might have to get it but i dont actually play online games because of many bad experiances as i have said before on these forums ;),you dont cheat do you Dark M ;)?
Just came 3rd in my very first on-line race, which was also my very first race as I didn't even try it single player, but I have played Mario Kart on the DS before.
I was very close to the back of 1st and 2nd too, if I had timed my mushroom better I may have won it!
This games great. Def the next game I will buy. Probably order it later tonight. Will no doubt be running some tournaments soon on the site. Maybe Smash Bros too. Hope to play with you guys soon :)

Totty, if a few of us have this and start having competitions then you will have to get it to join in.
As for cheating I cannot see how someone would cheat in this, as if it is a CPC movies race only then I don't think anyone here would cheat the others.
Just did another online race, much harder this time. Was down in 9th but came through strong and finished in 3rd again just missing out on 2nd as my red shell hit 2nd place just after the finish line!
I tell you what either Ive lost practice or people over the world have got better, I sucked tonight, best race I got 2nd... Poor Effort. I didn't realise until you beat me Eve that you were even in the race... Then I got all serious..
Oh so your saying that I only beat you because you weren't trying? sounds like and excuse to me.
I have had a few more races online tonight, I was doing very well in a few races but then seemed to get hit by 3 or 4 things all at the same time and drop right back. I did manage to finish second in one race and third a couple times.
I also raced that rainbow circuit again and was terrible once again, I cannot seem to get to grips with that one. At least I didn't come last.
We need to get lots of people on this and have a CPC Movies race.
See the trick with it is to hang back until the final lap then blast the course. As for Rainbow Road, It's just plain luck. The only power ups you seem to get on the course is speed ups which are the worst thing to have on that course.
And Eve's right we need more of you all on there.....
OK for those of you who need to know here are the unloackables on the game.....
