Do any of them? Name one player with a perfect reputation and leadership qualities to take the team forward...? Hard isn't it!

Some questions;

1. Is Rio going to be a regular for the forseable future? Yes.
2. Has his conduct (of late) been acceptable? Yes.
3. Does he have experience of captaining a side with fantastic moral and winning mentality? Yes.
4. Is he a consistent high performer? Yes.
5. Does he command not just those around him but the whole team? Yes.
6. Is he a player who every opposing player from lower league to Champions League dread facing? Yes.

Now pick another player who can say yes to all those questions. Yes Stevie G almost can but if your still thinking of him re-read question 3.

I think it's a good appointment. I would've been fine with Gerrard and was behind him when Terry (inexplicably) got the captaincy under Mac. But I feel now that Ferdinand has proved himself at Man Utd as a leader under the most demanding of generals. Now to do the same for England.

Adam, Who would you choose as the captain of Charlton from Terry and Ferdinand? I'd be suprised if you chose the overpaid, overrated Terry.

Capello has stated he's going to rotate the captaincy two more times at least before the WCQ. So onw ill be JT and I suppose the other would be Owen?

It will be intresting to see Rio as Captain, but to be honest other than Becks who has really fufilled the role anyway?

Im pleased for Rio, hes made mistakes but everyone has,noones perfect,not even becks! Im still stunned by how many people want beckham back,the guy loves himself and only praised Fabio when he was added to the squad and sulked when he wasent for the switerland game.He failed at every big tournement for england,claiming each time he was injured and he always puts himself first rather then anyone else.But thats not to say the other players are any better,we have a poor group of footballers who i couldnt say any one of them are world class.
