Lars von Trier's Antichrist has taken a leap forward with the cast announcements of Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
The film is a psychological thriller-horror (with a few more genre titles thrown in there I'm sure) and tells the story of a couple who retreat to a log cabin in the middle of nowhere to try and get over the death of their child.
Of course that won't be all there is to it, especially considering Lars von Trier films, but with Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg on board there's certainly going to be something interesting to be had.
All we know at the moment is that when the couple arrive they being to experience strange occurrences.
According to Variety, Anders Thomas Jensen wrote the Antichrist script alongside von Trier, which is interesting as looking through his career I picked out a couple of titles, he is credited with the story for the original Brothers aka Brødre and the for writing the remake starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Natalie Portman and Sam Shepard.
He also has The Duchess and Mørke behind him, as well as a string of other writers credits to his name. Joining von Trier and Jensen on a horror film starring Dafoe really has some interesting facets being drawn together, and you can't say that doesn't have your interest.
KInd of ironic isn't it Willem Dafoe in Anti CHrist? After playing THE Christ for Martin Scorsese. SO in the next few years then we should expect Mohammed, Buddha etc.??
