That is a nice axe. My first guitar was a Cream Fender Squire Strat (I like the looks of the new Propaganda series). If you need any help I might just revive the "Learn to play an instrument" thread if there's enough interest.
To answer MiB's question, I tend to use Earnie Ball's Slinkies. I have 4 set ups, The King V has hybrid slinkys because it's tuned Standard and is battered the most, The Explorer is Power Slinkys because it's always tuned C standard/Drop B, The Dinky is strung with super slinkys for standard/blues playing and finally the Acoustic has Regular Slinkys because I hate the feeling of steel accoustic strings, there's not tone or flexability in them.

That thread would be very useful Sympth ;).Id love to learn, and as i hope to get a hold of that above, ill give it a shot to become a good player of it.Only problem is i have no experiance, my older sister is a singer in a group (very unknown of course) so id have to ask her some favours.Actually one of my friends has a pink version of the above one and she likes to play with her band over there, so she recommended i give it a go, and as i have a little intresting in rock, i really want to give it a go! Hopefully youll give me some pointers in the future sympth once i get it ;).
Wow - I'm speechless at that guitar but it really is a beginners axe with just a volume control and one humbucker pick-up (rare for Fender).
My first electric guitar was a white Squire Strat which is souped up with a Seymour Duncan "Quarter pounder" pick-up in the bridge position and a vintage fender pick-up n the neck position.
My other electric is a Fender Start "Hendrix edition" which is (supposedly) made to the spec of Hendrix's '68 Strat. And I have a Sigma Martin Acoustic.
My Dad has a 1962 Gretsch Corvette and a Yamaha acoustic.
This was the famous piece that appeared in the Punk fanzine "Sniffing Glue" in the 70's:
Squires usually are pretty basic, just because it only has a volume control and a humbucker doesn't make it a bad guitar. Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom plays a RR with one humbucket and one Volume knob. I mean Personally I only ever use the Bridge Pick-up.
It shouldn't be too difficult to pick up Totty, you're into J-pop and punk and stuff aren't you? Well some of the best songs ever written just use 3 chords (Times like These by the Foos and Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana are testament to this)
I wasn't knocking the guitar from a players point of view but from the aesthetic with the Hello Kitty design on it! You'd have to be one brave dude to play that in public.
For absolute beginners of course it's a good guitar - it's a Fender!
BTW - you didn't say what gauge strings you use SOD. I remember a mate of mine trying 8's and the first thing he did was a bend on the top E and it snapped!
Bought a couple of Joshi dvds from a certain place for a bargain price, some older stuff though, some AJW 1980s and JWP stuff so looking forward to seeing some of that. Also some Womens Lucha starring my faverate girl Marcela.
A Japanese figurine for Mother's Day and a new PC because my one decided to play silly buggers on the day that I was about to start my new superfast broadband with my new ISP.
But because I just wanted the PC tower and it was ened of the line I got it for £200 off the asking price. And my new broadband appears to be running faster than the speeds I'm paying for!!
My Reina Photobook arrived today and it was even better than the previous ones. It is actually compliation of the previous 4 (all the best pictures) plus a whole load of new ones. It has many more pages, at least twice more, it also has the making of DVD like the others had, but this has a nice hardback cover, comes in a nice box and contain two Reina postcards too. YAY!
Indeed cant beat elfen Lied though i bought my box set for 50 quid...still it was worth it :).Great anime but not one ill be watching again for a while for obvious reasons! Recently i bought online a Final Fantasy XII walkthrough book and a bottle of pepsi.
Electric. Just a cheap Strat immitation. Saw it for £30 on Ebay and picked it up. Arrived today. I know its not a great guitar but it's purely to try it out and see if I want to take it further. Any advice well recieved.

That's a sensible move. Start out on a cheap model to learn on and get a feel for playing, then if/when you feel ready, then you go for the bigger "name" guitars and start investing in them.
