I've just discovered a Japanese female pop duo named Halcali and have been listening to their debut album HalCali Bacon and in particular the scarily catchy Giri Giri Surfrider which has a great spoof video based loosely on Jacko's Beat It too:
Just got done listening to Japanese singer/songwriter Yui's second album Can't Buy My Love. A step forward from her debut as she has switched to electric guitars although she hasn't dicthed the acoustc guitars altogether.
Strong melodies, impassioned vocals and sturdy musicianship are the order of the day here. It's a shame that this great music isn't available here in the West. God bless the Internet.
If I could afford to buy the CDs I would. But I can't so I go for the cheaper option instead!
Plus, my comment was also about the awareness of this great music which I'm sure some people would enjoy as an alternative to the utter dross that passes for music today readily available on this side of the World.
I know. And I also hate people's feelings towards foreign music. I'm sick of being questioned about it, particularly why I listen if I don't understand what's being said. It's such a narrow minded view.
